BWB- I was on a race track Saturday. Third track day ever. Had a superb time. Went off track on my fifth lap and managed to keep the bike upright in the slide zone. got home with a very tired truck transmission cleaned up the bike, and proceeded to drop it on its side, busting-up $500 worth of parts. I know I'm not the first person to have done this. It just sucks. Damage report: Crossroads bars base - bent, CRG clutch lever - snapped, CRG bar-end mirror - dinged, LSL billet shift lever twisted, maybe more stuff. I'll need to examine things more closely later. Have to go to work to make enough money to cover a split second's worth of damage. Moral of the story... ALWAYS check to make sure that the side stand is down before setting the bike down off of the rear stand. DOH! - Oh yea, almost forgot it is an XB12S - that's why I posted here... I tend to make the newbie mistake of forgetting to put my kickstand UP when I take off. I've done this twice. The first time it hit the ground and folded up like it was designed to do. The second time I realized it before it touched down. Anyway, I do empathize with you! I mean you saved it from what should have been a wreck and instead dropped it by being careless. I don't know about you, but these are the things that get me too - when I'm being too nonchalant and not paying attention. |

I feel your pain. Don't ask me how the top of my toolbox got dented or where the red marks came from on the right side of my bike!! |
