So here it is. My wife's bike has recently ungone a suspension switch. (06 cityx to scg suspension) i rode the bike quite briefly after that and all seemed fine. Fast foward, a friend of mine is out learning to ride on this bike and hits gravel/ understeers a turn and ends up low-sideing the bike. The handlebars were bent of course but those were being replaced anyway. Well they have been replaced and now i see that wasnt the reason for the off center steering. you can see very plainly that you steer slightly to the left to go straight (This was the side that hit the ground aswell) Whats broken or is this just a re-adjustment issue?? posted in KV but limited response. | ||

Check the alignment. I assume that you have changed the bent or broken parts? | ||

Try re-setting the forks in the triples. This happened to my old SV after I lowsided @ 30mph, that's all it took to correct it. Sometimes they just get twisted up a bit. | ||

tweaked fork tube? might be alleviated by loosening up the trees and tightening things back up. been there, crashed that... | ||

Micah You just have to loosen the lower triple tree pinch bolts and pump the suspension up and down to re align the forks. I think the torque setting was pretty low on the lower clamp, like 15 Ft-Lbs. It was this bike right?  Let's get your buddy into the MSF course ASAP. DBird | ||

Yep thats the one David. The frame pucks did an amazing job. Very happy to find out that might be as hard as it is to fix, started to get really worried it was a bend rim or something. P.S, am i gonna get the rest of those pics?  |
