I had to replace my low beam bulb today it finally gave up at 13,000 miles. I noticed there is a small bulb socket in the center of the head lamp assembly, what is that for? I dident check if it had power or ground.
would be kind of cool to put a little colored bulb in there

The European models have a "parking light" bulb installed in that socket. You can install a bulb there also, I believe it has power.

Yes, it just needs a bulb. Can't remember the number, but it's in the shop manual. I put a bulb in there and you can't see it at all really unless you use it for what it is intended for in Europe. If you turn your key forward to the parking light location, the bulb lights and makes the headlights glow a little. In Europe, if you park on the street, you must leave your parking lights on including the small glow in the headlights for visibility.

That little socket has power going to it. I swapped it's hot wire with the low beam's hot wire so when I flip to the brights, both lamps stay on.
