I know this has been mentioned on here before, but I wanted to let you all know how well Lemon Pledge furniture polish works on black plastic!!! It is amazing how it makes her shine. She's got 23k on her and the plastics look new again.

Even the dollar store lemon furniture polish works well. Pledge is the bikers best kept secret. and it works well on a variety of surfaces from paint to windscreens.

It works on your paintball masks too. The paint spray wipes right off, leaving a shinny-slick surface that makes you look like you play better than you really do.

Was this a paintball topic?

It can also leave a Build -up and then the end result you may find dull spots. It does this to Furniture whether wood or laminate and there fore you need to strip it and then use again. Kinda depends how much and often you use it as to the effects it can cause. I use Honda spray polish with zero effects and its great stuff.

I use Plexus on my plastics. It makes it look wet and shinny like new.

"protectal" is what i use & i have always suspected that it is a re-labeled can of pledge ! but it does a good job on plastics ,paint, rubber etc. unlike car polish there is no haze to wipe off !you just rub it in , & turn over your rag (dry side) and finish your polish job !

will the "pledge" work on the translucid plastics as well? Also what else do you guys use to clean the bike and plastics. (cloth, solvents etc...)

I don't use soap and water to often. I'll clean the frame and plastics and wheels with Plexus and lots of super-soft yellow micro fiber towels I bought from Costco.

About once a month, I'll wash it with soap and water. The soap is Mothers car soap. For the motor, I use Simple Green and a thin bottle brush for cleaning the fins and hard to reach areas. The Simple Green seems to make the motor look brighter. I dry it with lots of my Costco towels and redo the Plexus on the wheels and plastics. The Plexus makes every thing feel slick.

Having a Uly if it gets too clean I ride it around in the mud. Now my fiance's Cherry Bomb red Scg is a different story. After every ride the bike gets cleaned up and even the spokes on the wheels get dusted. O well beauty and the beast I suppose.

From what I gathered, Novus 1 is liked on this site while Novus 2 and 3 seem to do more damage than good. I got Novus one and have cleaned my helmet and shield with it. I haven't had a chance to try it out on my bike yet.

I bought some Plexus on the way home from work and the difference is night and day.

I've also tried Novus 1 and 2. Number 1 is Ok, but number 2 always leaves a haze.

From now on I'll be using only Plexus.

Sure, like using only Harley oil, Harley cleaning products, Harley spark plugs, Harley filters, Harley baby clothes, tassels, etc..

Its 90% marketing.

For a quick wipe and getting the bugs off, Pledge is great bang for the buck. I bet if you go out back, many shops are using it but our front they sell only the approved products.

Is Novus a Harley product? I don't think so as I saw it at Jap bike dealerships.

As many of you will discover, i am all about finding cheap alteratives to the over priced Dealers. I'm sure the Plexus, Honda spray, Novus, and Harley stuff works well, but In my mind, Pledge Works just fine and is the cheapest. If I ever find fault with the Pledge, you guys will be the first to know about it.

No novus isnt a Harley Product.
Novus 2 is for buffing minor scuffs but takes a bit of elbow grease.
Novus 1 is to clean the surface when done.

Its possible that if there is still some hazing then maybe you didnt buff enough or posibly needed the novus 3 first then 2.

I got great results on CD and DVD's using this product. But never used it on a windscreen.

I've received some freebies from www.bostonsoapworks.com at various rallies. It's good stuff, but a bit pricey.

I got Novus one and have cleaned my helmet and shield with it.

If your shield has an antiscratch coating, like Scorpions use, DO NOT USE NOVUS. After time, it breaks down the coating....

Don't ask HOW I know this...

That sucks!

I think my shield only has anti-fog coating, but that's on the inside. I don't use Novus on that surface.

i use harley quick detailer after i wash my scooter. my scooter is black so the water spots show quite a bit. i used it on my jetta which is also black and it took off the water spots right away. heck of alot easier than waxing to remove waterspots.

Be careful with Novus 2 - I used on a few scratches, buffed a bit and noticed that my cloth turned blue. At first I thought it to be oxidation, but upon further checking I noticed is hazed and pretty much wore off a section of the color. Needless to say I was Pi$$ed!!

Novus 1 works fine for a quick shine and works great on my helmet/visor

I use novus on my pinball machines (My other hobby : )). They are designed to be used in descending order. 1 is clean and shine. 2 is fine scratch remover, 3 is heavy scratch remover. So if I am working on plastics inside a machine that are scratched up I will start with 2 to see how it does, and sometimes go to 3 if needed, then back to 2, and then finally finish up with 1 to get the shine back.
