i've noticed with the daily temps climbing my right leg is gettin incredibly hot on my cityx. will the header wrap help? also how much is involved in wrapping them, i assume they have to be removed and i just want to make sure that the time i spend doing it is worth the outcome...thanks to all. pics of yours if you have them.

Wrapping the headers really helps alot. I did mine on the bike. 50 feet of 2 inch wrap is enough. Some guys here took the header off and did it. I wrapped the forward pipe first and then the aft pipe and carried it down the collector. There are tons of threads on this subject here. Just do a search

Some people here have reported that wrapping the headers will damage the headers over time. I would recommend ceramic coating the headers. American Sportbike will do a trade with you. They'll send you the ceramic coated headers with a deposit fee that's refunded when you send them your stock headers.

I use Header wrap on my DynaGlide by Cool-It for the past three years. Had to replace it a few times due to scraping in the corners and getting weathered. I have used the header paint as well to keep the wrap looking black but the paint gave it that burnt charcoal look.
I also have two customers that I put header wrap on their pipes.
The only damage that I have seen in 3 years from header wrap is extreme blueing. Pipes arent brittle or have any holes.
Header wrap does work, it will keep you cooler it will improve scavenging. But the coating will last a whole lot longer. Won't be as cool as the wrap but cooler than your uncoated pipe.

If you keep the headers polished the problem will go away. Has to do with transfer of radiant energy. Your millage may vary.

The wrap will give you a lot more protection from the heat.
