Someone just backed their trailer into my bike!! I'm so bummed! The whole front end is messed up. Both blinkers are just hanging by the wires. There is a large crack in the headlight housing. There are numerous scratches on the front forks so I don't know how damaged those are. The front fender is scraped and probably bent. The shifter is busted. The peg on that side is busted. The rear pegs appear to be ok but i have to take a closer looks.

About the only good thing I can say is that the frame pucks I installed not 2 weeks ago just saved the bike from a lot more damage.

I won't know how much damage was actually done until the dealership can take a look at it. This totally sucks! There is a big ride coming up here in Utah too! I doubt I'll have my bike back in time!

Were you able to get the info on the driver of the vehicle that hit your bike?

Always sorry to hear about this kind of thing happening, but at least you weren't
on it at the time!

Thanks everyone! I'm still in shock. And Kpg2713 thanks for the offer to help, I may take you up on that!

The MDA ride is coming up the first of June. I know it's a Harley ride but it's a lot of fun, there are lots of bikes, and my friends and I were all planning on going. Was going to be the first ride my good friend and his brand new black XB12s were going to come on.

I'm did get all the info of the person that hit it thankfully and yes I'm glad I wasn't on it. I'm not sure how hard it was hit but they backed into it with a pretty big trailer. I was coaching gymnastics at the time and a bunch of the kids saw it happen and they all let out a huge "OHH!" when it happened it had to be pretty hard. I'm told it was hit pretty hard then pushed a little bit.

I'm going to try and take it into the dealership today so they can start assessing the damage.

Maybe the dealership will let you demo a bike for the MDA ride. Stranger things have happened.

Sorry about your bike. I agree w/ dbird29, try to get a bike from the dealership where you get the bike fixed. Tell them that you want one of their Buell rentals for the ride, (they will get the repair business if they let you borrow the bike, wink, wink..)

Just let us know what happens with the bike once the dealer checks it out. Where did you bring it? South valley HD?

I dropped it off at South Valley HD yesterday : ( They are pretty packed up and may not even have a chance to look at it until next week. We'll see what the estimate is ... I told them to hook me up hehe.

You know what the problem is going to be? Harley takes way too long to get parts ordered and shipped. Hopefully they can get on it soon.

Kpg - that statement should be clarified: The Harley DEALERSHIP takes too long to get parts ordered. Buell Motorcycle Company usually ships pretty darn quick. Some dealerships do silly things like only ordering on Fridays to make things easier for them - one order once a week...that can cause a delay if they don't look at it until later next week, if they don't get the order in on that Friday and it waits another week...

You can see how a long delay gets blamed on: "it took that long to get the parts in"

No word yet ... Don't think they can even look at it until this coming Saturday. This sucks!

Sorry it is taking so long.

Cruisin- Yeah it is the dealership I guess. Whatever it is, it takes far too long to get parts in when going to South Valley HD. I can't order Buell parts from any other dealer around here since they are the only one that even has buell. I tried going through Timpanogos HD, but after I ordered the part they called me back and said that since they aren't licensed to carry buells they can't order buell parts.

Just received a call from the service department. The estimate is roughly $1800 in parts and another $800 in labor. Basically the entire front end needs to be replaced and a bunch of parts on the left side need to be replaced.
