i didnt ride my xb last year nor start it up. last night i warmed it up to change the oil, and when i took the filter off, there was barely enough to fill the filter.

so i started filling the 2.5 quarts and it came out the top.

how can i relieve this clog? im pouring oil in right now and starting it as as long as it runs, oil comes out of the filter side but as soon as i shut it off, it stops.

Mookie, sir can you please repeat that..... I thought I read that you started and ran the bike with the filter REMOVED? For future reference that is ALWAYS a bad idea.

eh, Was the filter full ?

Also, I think you just ran your engine w/o oil. How long did you run it to watch the oil pump out ?

i only ran it for 3-4 seconds to purge some oil. when the swingarm is full to the top and running the engine is bringing down the volume, i know its running through. but how can i get it unclogged so it runs freely?

the filter had oil in it but i would generally think that if i pulled the filter off, that , oh snap, i think i just tried to drain it through the oil filter and not pull the plug..

Mookie, please, put the tools down. Step away from the motorcycle. Go have a beverage, obtain the service manual, read through a few of the relevant procedures. We can probably walk you through this.....

no doubt.

i really cant think of why i did that. the service manual was sitting right next to me but i thought i remembered everything.

alcohol was not a factor, only pure stupidity.

im also the genius that programs the robots that build your cars too. scary!!!

I'm sorry to hear that, especially if you mean VW or VW+ (aka Audi).
