Well I couldn't believe my clutch cable broke but it did, Limped it home in 3rd and of course the fuel light came on half way home. Anyway, I don't have a Buell dealer close but I do have around 3,000 Harley dealers close so I'm wondering (and hoping), Is a Sporster cable the same? I know I can get one local and they look the same and the case is the same so will it work? I wanna fix it tomorrow so any help would be great.

It's all about length, everything else about hd cables and buell cables are the same. Just have them, or yourself, measure the clutch cable, then see if they have one in stock (usually hanging on the wall easy to measure) Don't worry about matching specific models to cables. Just go length and you'll be fine, they should have one that is damn near perfect to yours.

Dr. Deming taught us that using the same part on multiple models is a great strategy to cutting costs. Hopefully HD and Buell listened, for your sake :-P.

Take it off and take it with you(both ends), some shops have the ability to make you one.Charlie

They break because of the extreme angle the cable has to bend at the lever. If the cable end is not lubed well it will not pivot and the cable just gets bent too much and eventually breaks.
It looks like that MSR lever fixes the angle and should prolong cable life, at least from the pictures it looks like it would.

Well there are no cables to be had at any Buell dealership in NY or PA,and the order time was a week to 10 days and I couldn't find anyone around that still makes cables. However it's American Sport Bike to the rescue, he had them in stock and I will see it tomorrow. Thanks Al.
JK the bike has about 17K on it. broke right at the ball at the lever.

go to a snowmobile shop and buy a ferrel repair kit to keep in your tool pouch, It will be the best $6 you ever spend.
