You'd be better off getting a race ecm(if you can find one) or get direct link(or get your stock ecm flashed by Al at American Sport Bike).

I love my micron, feel free to pm me with any questions you have about it.

Sam

Dont bother with the Power Commander. Trust me. Race ECM or Direct Link, those are really the only way to go.

How much does it cost to get a new map from American Sport Bike? And do you send the ECM to him or do you need to buy parts? I've seen the "key" on ASM and I'm not sure what it's for. I'm pretty sure I'm going with Micron too. Oh and I hope it's not overly loud!

When I purchased my setup the map install was $100 and $250 for the key. That was for me sending in the ECM and having them remap for me.
If you want the remap tool kit it is $348 and comes with the key.

My xb9 is as loud as a 12 with a Drummer SS at idle, and the 12 with a Micron is louder than my 9 with a little more bass thump.

I can't tell you anything about noise at cruising speed other than you won't be able to hear what the road rager next to you is trying to say. Just yell back to him "I can't hear you." Then try to read his lips while he goes back through the motions of pointing at your bike and spitting while he yells. When he stops to catch his breath yell back, "I can't hear you." Repeat this as many times as necessary because your open intake, wind in helmet, and exhaust will only allow you hear parts of words.

micron is the way to go for performance. the d&d is a LOUD pipe, but doesn't help your hp/torque nearly as much.

al's maps are top notch. get the dl software and key combo, then have him email you the map. load it in your bike, make sure you have an open airbox, re-route your breather lines, and say WHEEEEEEEE!!!!!

the pipe is 800 bucks. spend the extra 4-500 and do everything else with it. i did. and i've got a huge grin.

John, see the link below. Compares a number of pipes (D&D, micron, jardine, special ops, etc.) both for the 9 and the 12. Should be able to paste this address into your internet explorer address bar.

I haven't really looked because I thought they were out of my price range, but where do you get the Micron?

I know you can order a Micron from American Sport Bike or Iron Machine. When I got mine I asked a local dealer if they could get a Micron and I ended up only spending $720.

I have a Micron with one of Al's Direct Link maps in the ECM. I bought the software and cable package and installed the map myself. I also had the header tubes Jet-Hot coated to keep them nice looking.
Did the breather hose re-route and opened the airbox to '07 specs. I tried the open air box kit, but with the air inlet just under my chin on my '06, it was pretty loud.
