Very cool. If a small company like KTM can produce a new v-twin sportbike why can't Buell? DOHC water-cooled, 150hp please.

I think I'm in love! I thought the Super Duke was sexy, but DAMN! Can't wait to see what engine they develop for it. Those Austrians sure can make some damn nice stuff. Too bad it'll take 4 years to make it overseas.

I wonder what a Rotax V990 would look like?

"I wonder what a Rotax V990 would look like?"

Probably very similar to the engines used by Aprilia since Rotax makes those too.

I meant in a Buell.

With the orange color and very edgy styling, I can't help but picture Herman Munster riding it in a modern version of the "Munsters"

This is more like it:

Moto Guzzi MGS-01 - currently cleaning up in many of its eligible races in Europe. Air/water-cooled V-twin, 1225cc, 128bhp @ 8000rpm, 6-speed gearbox etc. etc.

Turn the engine sideways, put some 'Buell' badges on it and there's your 2008 Firebolt.

Gawd I hope.

PSH!
(grumble grumble grumble)
yeah I suppose the Guzzi is nice...
I still cannot forgive them for getting rid of the V11 line.

The KTM is pretty cool, but almost overdone. It looks like a prototype that needs to be toned down some before hitting the showroom. Other than that I think it is pretty awesome.

After having my Firebolt for almost 3 years I have decided not to beg for a water cooled superbike from Buell. It isn't what they want to do, or something that they think appeals to their core market. On top of that Buells are already just as expensive new as pretty much any other sportbike using the lump that is in them now. Imagine how much a completely new bike would cost to cover the R&D on it! The line would need to stay relatively unchanged for 5 or more model years like the XB has, and it would still be at least an extra couple thousand on the sticker. I like my Firebolt warts and all, and I probably won't buy another bike until I can afford to have my Firebolt and a new bike too.

That RC8 looks cool, but I don't think my butt could stand it for more than 15 minutes at a time! Ouch!

The KTM looks like an origami interpretation of a sport bike.

I saw an MGS-01 at Daytona last year. that is a pretty cool bike. I wouldn't mind having one.

I wouldn't piss myself over that RC8 just yet. It is still at "concept" status, correct? Last I heard, there were two working prototypes and no hard date for retail production. I'd love to be wrong on this, so please back up any corrections with a link.

As for the Guzzis, two critical words, Dry Weight. I'll stay put 'til Guzzi figures out how to translate that into something tangible. That said, they can indeed build some beautiful machinery.
