Anyone do this? I just got a R tripletree and bars. I tried looking in the KV but couldnt find anything helpful. I know Ive seen some people on here that have done this, was curious if someone could help me out with some detailed pics of the mods they had to do to fit the R tree on an S.

For example do I need new longer cables, I know I need to mill off the key hole, but is there any other reworking on the R triple I need to do, and any other helpful advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks guys.....Again sorry but i couldnt find anything in depth enough in the KV....

Pics would be tremendously helpful.

Thanks -
Sean

Sinatra- I did it! that was my big winter mod, it realy wasnt that bad.

you will need the R clutch cable and you can switch to the R Brake line but you dont have to (its shorter) here is the link I found when I did it. I can put up some pics when im home later tonight. If you come up with any questions feel free to ask.

I will send you some Pics of the triple before I powder coated it, I added a piece of aluminum to pick up all the mounts for the key and fly mod's and you will see in stealths pics that he just taped 3 out of 4.

thanks new12r....
i've checked out the post above and even gotten some help from glitch and xbullet two weeks ago.

i was mainly looking for a picture of the aluminum bracket tq_freak added (a little different than the "drill and tap" route) to pick up all 4 mounting holes.

Chgojim - I will dig them up for you, basicly what I did was mill off the key ring and between the two mounting nubs on the R Tree I machined an aluminum block that I welded in so that I could then drill and tap holes for the S key mount. I did this in hopes to still keep the fork lock but with all said in done it moved the lock bolt out like 3/8 of an inch. I picked up a different lock off ebay and was going to extend the bolt but I just havent gotten to it yet.

ok, heres another question...

Now Im thinking of just switching to the whole R front end. I got the triple and bars, controls, switches and gauges and turn signals.

What else would i need?
And any advice would be great.
It should be a relatively easy conversion right? all my electronics are already under the seat, So i really shouldnt have to much to mess with in that aspect. right?

Heres what i figure so far:

1- fairing (does it come with windscreen?)
2 - fairing bracket
3- clutch and brake cables
4- headlight assembly
5 - misc blots and fasteners
6 - mirrors

Anybody out there with access to a parts book please help. Anybody work for a dealership prices would be great...I MISS DAVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
