Well, I have successfully passed the riding portion of my MSF class! Woohoo! Written portion tonight, then it's all over!

I botched at least one thing for each section of the test, but they were all stupid mistakes just because I was nervous about being graded. I actually scraped a peg on the final 130' turn.... probably didn't enter that one correctly if I had to push it that hard to make it around! Over all, not too bad though.

Here's a bit some of you will find humorous. I wore full gear for both days of the riding section: mesh jacket & mesh pants (both with CE hard armor), race boots, race gauntlets, and a full faced DOT/Snell helmet. When the second day was done, one of the instructors looked at me and said, "Don't you get hot in all that?" I almost horse laughed. Apparently I wear more protective gear than the actual SAFETY instructors do!

Congrats Swordsman! I think you will find that the written test is a piece of cake... You will be riding before you know it.
I took Riders Edge in Reno last August, great time and I learned a lot. I recommend it to everyone I meet.
I'd like to see a majority of the riders out there perform some of the manuevers on their bikes. I bet most of the "experienced" riders out there wouldn't pass the riding portion.

No doubt! I've been riding my Buell for a year now, and wouldn't have dared to try some of the things I learned to handle there.

BTW, Blasts are funny little critters after coming off an XB.

Done. Aced it. Now I just have to wait 15 frikkin' days for them to process the paperwork.

Woohoo! Congrats on passing.

Don't forget to see if you can get a rate reduction on your insurance.

15 Days? Georgia doesn't link the DMV licensing with the MSF/R.E. course does it?

Congrats on passing. As a R.E. instructor, I like to hear about students wearing full motorcycle specific gear.

If you have Progressive I can tell you that they do not offer a MS Class reduction. But other than that they have been a great company with really competitive rates.

Even if you do have progressive still check it out cause some states require ins. companies to give a discount. I know this because TN does this.

Swordsman, you don't lose points for scraping parts on the 130 degree turn. Only for improper speed (only slow not fast), crossing boundaries, and some other stuff. We have some Kawasaki Eliminators in class that have a low muffler on the right side that will drag thru that turn on the lower end (fast) of the timing chart.

As Edonis said, it is always a breath of fresh air when a student shows up with proper gear. No matter how many times we stress what is required in class, it is amazing what people show up to ride in.

15 days is crazy. If you pass the class here in NM, I hand you your certification card and you go straight to the DMV and get your endorsement. OH is the same too.
