I will be attending an Italian Bike trackday here at Mondello Park on May 28 - they will not let me bring my XB but I will get to chat to Jeremy McWilliams and you can bet we'll be talking about the RR so if you've got any questions you want me to ask let me know and I'll try to get some answers. |

Yea, ask him if it's the end of the line for him and Buell racing or is there something else brewing from the boys at East Troy |

everyone around here seems to think my Buell is a ducati, maybe you could sneak it in if you added a couple of italian flags/tricolore stickers |

Ask Jeremy how he kept the headers from melting through the fairing. LOL! The owner of my local Buell shop has a RR and I've done a couple of track days with him. He gets the RR out for maybe one session each track day. The first day we did together, the headers melted the fairing then the bike developed an oil leak at the base gasket. The second day we did together, the headers still melted the fairing even though he put a standoff in place. The engine started leaking oil out the countershaft sprocket. He did say that when he hit the straights he was going like a rocket ship. Just has to get the bugs worked out before he can run it in WERA heavyweight twins. I am going to keep bugging him to let me take it out for a session. LOL! Of course, the GP shift pattern will be sort of strange. |

Superb trackday yesterday in Mondello and had lunch with Jeremy Mac. Sadly he didn't seem too hopeful about the XBRR project's future but I got the impression that he really enjoyed his outings on the bike. He seemed to think that the primary drive problems were almost insurmountable. He told me that he stuck with the rim mounted front disc though others didn't, he found it great. In short he had nothing but good to say about Buell....and this with the Ducati importer and host of the trackday sitting beside us. He reckoned that the pistons were the biggest he had ever seen and reckoned he could fit his arm in the bore up to his shoulder though it wasn't clear why he was doing this!?! I think we both wished we'd had our Buells there. He was faster down the straight than me too.....and he was on one wheel!! |
