My front isolator bolt bushing is going bad. Rubber pieces falling off and I need to replace the bushing. Went to Black Hills Harley Davidson and Buell. Apparently they only sell the entire motor mount for around $82.00 and some change. Do I need the entire new piece? Had to put naked in there to get some clicks. |

It seems to be a normal condition, My '06 Uly is now going in for the second one in 14,000 miles. I think that they are not big enough (the rubber part) for the amount of torque and vibration they must absorb. |

Wow! That was fast. I'll check with the sponsors. Good idea. Why didn't I think of that? Probably because I was thinking of "naked" haha |

The new isolator is sold as a kit. You do need the entire mount, as the rubber is, or rather was, bonded to it. It also comes with a new $17 bolt that you do not need. Normally this should be an extended warranty item as the original item was inadequate, and has been upgraded. See if you can get the upgrade for free even though you are slightly out of warranty. Try to be cordial and polite, OK? |

Must be the "Gentleman" in him! Seriously, good advice Jon! Chat with your dealer! How good of terms are you on with them? These are the reasons I hang out at the dealership even when I'm not shopping. They see you there all the time, they get to know you. And it gives me a chance to pester the owner about his lack of Buell swag! One of these days I'm gonna' show up down there and he will say "Look what I have!" Plus, they have free donuts on Saturday. . . |

Thanks Gentleman_jon. I don't have an extended warranty and thank you for informing me on the updated part! Many thanks. How do I go about talking to the Parts guys and asking for a free part? I've got the service manual so I can do the service and it doesn't look to hard but do tell how I ask for the free stuff! |
