WSB?!! Man, that's a big mouthful to bite off. I'd love to see it though and if they jump in I hope they are ready and in for the long haul. That is one high performance race series.

By reading the internet a person could think that all these design engineers that Buell has hired are sitting about playing cribbage.

I thought they were taking much needed vacations after working so hard to develop the numberplates for the TT.

Seriously, every year there are rumors that Buell will come out with an all new motor or a world-beater sportbike. This year these rumors seem to have gained more momentum. It would be great if Buell released a Competitive, Liquid cooled, Literbike but i'm
not holding my breath.

Those rumors are the fodder of internet chat rooms . . have been since the first Buell boards in 1994 and are to this day.

Buells, from the first year that HD set out to market a mere 300 S2's. . got surprised and overrun with orders, have come a long way.

The motorcycle business is expensive, ask the Hanlons who went on their asses with a mere $60M of taxpayers money.

Actually you make an excellent point . . . that number plate is much more significant than perhaps, vision clouded by internet frolick, most see. . .

Remind me to tell you sometime . . .

Are the TT number plates acting like some kind of Formula 1 race car underbelly tunnel? You know the air is sucked out so the fan doesn't come on all the time?

They're just using the number plates to get us used to where the radiators are going to go...

Court, what you say is 100% correct. But...there is also KTM, that made it's success with cutting edge products. They used Rotax engines for a long time to keep costs in check, and now have the critical mass to do it in-house.

"Unless Buell comes out with something that really peaks my interest, my next bike will be a Triumph. Either a Speedtriple or 2008 Streettriple 675."

Tpoppa your wish will be granted by next year. Don't lose the faith brother. If people have info on this board, they're affraid to post it. I don't blame them. Witch hunts and threats always seem to follow. I posted info on a new motor and had to sleep with one eye open for a week.

That's kiiiinda accurate.

It's neither a witchhunt nor a threat, it's Harley-Davidson Corporate Policy, well communicated and understood by all of us who hold PDC entry privledges.

Your friends told you some things and when they did they violated their integrity and word.

There is no (as a dealer learned with the Blast deal in Arizona) provision that says "except for friends after I've had a couple beers".

Buell has a number or fascinating things currently underway . . so by the way does General Electric, Waring Blender and Toyota. . everybody does.

There are sound reasons for HD's policy and it's rigidly enforced. The last brush, of anyone I knew, was when an HD exec walked two long time (15 and 17 years) PDC folks to their desks, handed each a box and told them they had 15 minutes to be out the door.

A promise is a promise.

1994? Jeez, your rumour mill really has grown since a mere handful of you got going on those first Buell forums.

Sure makes you wonder where Erik has been the last 3 weeks doesn't it . . .

Witness you're still at it today, yet you have the gall to suggest rumours from others are more cynical than your own.

Most of us here have been known to do some armchair quarterbacking from time to time but these folks over at HD and Buell know what they are doing. All will be revealed in good time. As far as "see how sales are for a full-on Buell sportbike", I say, no guts no glory. Personally, I don't want to see some off the shelf motor hanging from my frame made cookie cutter style in some far-off factory. The motor is the heart and soul of a bike. Any yahoo can slap together a bike - just look at OCC.

Tefal have shown an interest in the Rocket Toaster, but my solar powered miners lamp is looking good for the Chilean market sector.

Personally I kinda hope Buell is careful not to chase track performance too far. The reason I bought a Buell, and not a Suzuki, Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki or (another - heh) Triumph is that I wanted a bike to ride on the street.

I love not having to worry about chains, sprockets, radiators, antifreeze, or valve adjustments. My wallet loves it too. I love having a powerband that makes sense on the street, instead of on the track. I love comfortable upright ergos that don't make the bike uncomfortable at street speeds.

I'm not sure how much good will really come out of a "me too" liquid-cooled 600cc or liter bike - ask the folks at Triumph how that worked out. It wasn't until Triumph went back to its roots and did the 675 that they had a successful sportbike.

I'm sure that if Buell comes out with a liquid-cooled bike, it will perform. I'm just not sure it'll be the kind of bike I want to buy.

At the very least, I hope they don't abandon the combination of ease of maintenance, technology where it makes sense, and great real-world usability they already offer in the Lightening, Ulysses and Firebolt lines.

You tease! You're as bad as Buell.
Just enough information to get the rumors started.
There's already a thread on Bad Weather Miners about performance numbers.

I think Court meant "chile" as in beans and meat; he only capitalized it cause he spent enough time down here in Texas to know how important chile really is.

"Chile" is a country in South America. "Chili" is a dish made with beans and meat in the Texas/Mexico area...

Jaime -

You speak BLASPHEMY!!

Chili is NEVER made with beans.

Beans can be added to chili - but I can't imagine the emergency that would require it.

I have a friend who lives in Santiago.
