just got an 04 xb12s and am looking to add these windguards, anyone know a step by step to accomplish this?

It comes with instructions. They're not hard to follow, though I DID manage to swap the left and right bolts on my 1st installation attempt... wasn't paying close enough attention to the drawings! Be sure to have a heavy rubber mallet handy for knocking the end caps into place... they can be a buggar.

i ordered directly from harley/buell so they just sent me the parts with no instructions

When I bought mine for my xb12ss, the parts counter printed out the assembly picture to make sure they ordered all the parts and then gave it to me. Also if your dealer has a xb12x, xb12stt, or xb9sx in stock you can look at that.
