nightster...just another metal HD...when will we see something a bit more tech from this company.

More HP wouldn't hurt my feelings any. Till then we'll have to bask in good resale value and great parts availability.

That black and orange 'Nightie' is looking reaallllyyy good....must...resist...temptation....

The rear suspension looks like it may even have 2 inches of travel!

You could always replace the seat with one of those with springs.

Not if you can avoid the "speed bumps".
They would really work to slow you down on that bike!

The pegs look to be too far forward to comfortably stand on them to use your legs to absorb the jolts.
A kidney belt and a good chiropractor would be needed.

sure looks nice. there's one local with red spoke wheels and whitewalls. it says "i belong on a trailer behind a '32 roadster with red wheels and whitewalls."

i like it. : )

now if i just had a '32 ford roadster and a trailer i might just get a nightster.

nah. i'll stick to my lightning.

I don't see the big deal with the XR. It looks like a old kawasaki from the 80's. The nightster IS cool. I demoed one a few months ago. One thing I didn't like were the front brakes. They felt pretty weak compared to the XB

"Been over to the local dealer to have a look at the Nightster. Seems they are flyin' out the door. Looks quite nice. The one I saw had forward controls put on it and that awesome black/orange paint combo. Tasty... Wish I had room for more 2 wheelers!(and a bit more $$$ too!) The price isn't too bad either!
Just another $.02"

Why ruin a nice bike that actually has mid controls for once by putting on forward controls? Forward controls are ridiculous, they make a motorcycle look like a lounge chair. To each his own, but man, I don't think anything looks as goofy as forward controls, feet sticking out in front of you, legs stretched out, just dumb imho.

As for the Nightster, maybe this will help eliminate the Sportster's biker reputation as being a chick bike. I always thought they were cool.

Theres a reason H-D races that bike, you might want to take a look at the flat track heritage on that bike... My standard comment on the XL Besides, I bet there are several girls out there that could light that bike up and leave you wondering wtf just passed you like you were standing still.

City,

I know you're not directing the girl comment towards me because I specifically stated that I always liked the bike and that BIKERS wrongfully give that response of "chick bike". I know all too well that Sportsters are fun bikes, I've had TWO! If I cared what people thought about certain bikes, I wouldn't have bought a Buell. As for women on motorcycles, I know some women who can ride harder and faster than most men. The only way someone would be able to tell if it were a man or woman is when the helmet comes off. If you'd like to discuss flat track, well, you're talking to someone who grew up in flat track. My father (62 years old), brother (37 years old) and me (31 years old) all race flat track. My father has two vintage bikes including a Yamaha TT 500 and a CB 650 engined vintage TrackMaster. My brother races a YZ 450 F (set up for flat track) and a Vintage Yamaha TT500 engined TrackMaster. I currently have a YZ 450 F, but am looking for a vintage bike. The YZ should be sold next weekend.
Hope that cleared things up, any questions?
