Hey DJ, I had no idea we are the same age!

Yeah, but I still feel like I'm 43...

On a more serious note... I did sustain some injuries that weekend. I pinched a nerve in my back reaching for the remote control in my room at the Holiday Inn, and I got stung by a bee on my last ride.

I didn't go thru the turn blind. The guys in front gave me the thumbs up, meaning the coast is clear. I'm all ready back in my lane when the SUV passes me. I had an out the whole time. For some reason you are not comfortable with it. Unless you go to the track, lane split and play in traffic you will never understand my margins.

Not to mention the camera is mounted to the left side of your helmet. The camera angle does make a difference.

What kinda camera setup are you running? I'd like to have that capability.

I gotta get me one of those!
Thanks for the link.
All the ones I've seen before, were just the camera, and you had to have a camcorder to do the recording.

It comes with everything you can imagine to do just about anything. The MP3 player is cool too. It has a manual focus lens. In the videos I posted the lens was slightly out of focus for the distance I was recording..... I like it.

just for the record... i'm the guy who got passed on the right. and i gotta stick up for my boys and myself.

suffice it to say that i'm too busy lookin' for gravel and idiots who can't stay on their side of the double yellow (like that grandpa in the benz at gixxer corner?) so that i can save my own skin. no mirrors and no turn signals mean my eyes never leave where i'm going and my hands never shift. total focus and total control. like zen... without the i'm also holding my line and being a part of the group. hammer was on the inside, i was on the outside, tracker was on the inside. just like when the geezer-gliders ride on charity rides. tracker saw a safe spot, he passed me, he went outside and i went inside. i think odie was behind me and he was outside. otherwise we were all single file. just like we're supposed to. : )

you only need the width of a door....
the SUV pass was on a "go" signal. by the time the signal changed, tracker was committed and had no choice but to continue through the pass. brakes at that point would have meant more variables and more potential for disaster than finishing the pass and getting back in line. plus, he had plenty of room. smart riding!

(what else was being bitched about?!?!? oh yeah...)

the camera distorts angle. i was on his back tire... (don't take that too literally, sheesh!) i was the next guy in line and he was way clear of center. the fact that the camera is on the left side of his helmet coupled with looking through the turn greatly enhances the freak out factor of the left turns, whereas the right turns seem less menacing (even though they were just as good!!)

all this bein' said, followin' New12R is a pleasure and a learning experience. you will not find a more humble and helpful rider. you oughtta try it, and if you're not comfy with it, i'm sure Smokescreen can work you into one of his Rider's Edge courses. : )

all ribbing aside, the fact of the matter is, we went on a wicked ride that was a helluva lotta fun. made some new friends and have newfound respect for old ones. we looked out for each other and stayed out of each others' way. nobody got off the bike and said anything other than giving unneccessary apologies and "wow, that was great!"

best part is, we got it on tape and we get to share it with each other and the rest of ya'll. somebody else here ain't got that, do they?

glad you enjoyed it and watched it so close. if you wish you were there, don't bust our balls. join us! you are more than welcome. if you're fast or slow, we'll all be at the rendevous point till the last guy gets there.

Dude, you guys still talking about this?

Come on, it was a good ride and nobody got hurt. Let them have their fun. We weren't there. Please let it go. Why don't you guys head over to the string where we're helping out fellow badwebbers fix their bikes if you want to do something constructive.

For what it's worth, I'm sorry I stuck my nose in this argument back on the first day. I meant no harm. I just care about my fellow enthusiasts but probably should have kept my mount shut because it was none of my business and I wasn't there or affected by it at all other than getting to enjoy watching you guys. Thanks for posting but let it lie. We all do stupid stuff from time to time (not to say that you were being stupid...just one of many perceptions). Or maybe I should say, I do stupid stuff sometimes so I don't have any right to jump you guys for doing something I consider risky. I'm sure I do stuff you probably think is stupid too. Lord knows I've had a whole gaggle of angels flying alongside me through my first 10,000 miles on the street.

Here's a good one...I have on more than one occasion passed between cars riding triple digit speeds because I was too impatient to wait for the guy in the left lane to move over. You guys don't even have to tell me how stupid that was. I'd imagine that's probably way more dangerous than passing a riding buddy on the right.

So, I'm stupid, you're stupid, we're all stupid, but hopefully we'll make good decisions tomorrow and live another day. Peace brothers. (-:

I highly doubt that any road beats Deals Gap or the Wolfs Pen.

although those roads are as fun as they get for the east coast, there are a ton of those roads over in northern california that are a lot more wicked and will keep your bung hole tight the whole way.

Tight bunghole? That's right up my alley.
