So it was a beautiful day here in WA, sun even came out! I'm in a class all week and it just so happens that three of us in this class (of about 30) ride Buells! Firebolts no less! I had to snap a couple of pictures with my cell phone, wish I'd had my digital camera with me for better quality though.

After we got out of class today we just had to go for a ride. It was really nice to go with a few guys for a change too! A couple others joined in too, someone on a Superhawk and another on a F4i. We really tore it up on the roads here, found some fun local curves!

On an almost bad note I discovered my primary chain tensioner went loose on me after hearing a weird sound at a stop. I quickly noticed the nut being loose and tightened it back to spec. While I had my service manual open I looked at the suspension settings. I discovered that my suspension settings were at the recommended settings for my weight, but not at the "performance" settings. I changed them to the performance settings, now all I need to do is take it for a ride to find the difference.

Just thought I'd share...

Sam

Three regular sport bikes, and nothing.

See three Buells together, and it becomes an event.

Very cool!

What the?!?!?!?! You're just being mean! where was it sunny? I was in Olympia all day and I kept getting rained on. I drove the truck to work after scraping ice and then the sun would come out enough to make me wish I rode, then the rain would come. That went on all day. I think today will be the same way! Anyway, where are you guys? What school are you attending? I'm thinkin' 'bout riding out to Legend in Silverdale Sunday. I got 3 Harleys I'll be rollin' with (my regular Harley group) so come join us and see if we can outnumber them! I'm always up for meetin' a Buell rider around my part of the world!

Awesome!!

My nephew lives in Oak Harbour and will be getting deployed on the Stennis (I think) in Aug.

My brother is going to turn him on to a 600 Bandit for the summer to use. Keep an eye out for him!! It's got an awesome custom aluminum dual headlight setup on it. Kinda looks like a Triumph speed triple from the front.

Man I get them all mixed up. I do know it is NOT the Carl Vinson.

He spent a lot of time on the Vinsen a few years back, during the inital move against Iraq shortly after 9/11. He was right in the middle of the hundreds of strikes launched off the Vinsen. He helped guide hundreds of jets off her deck. He's talked about 12 hour days of constant incoming/outgoing fighters. Good thing he is young.

Soon it will be time for him to go back out to sea after a couple of years on land. I'd like to go do at least one ride with him before he goes.

He is mainly a dirt biker, and it would be fun to get him out on street bike and tear up a few roads before he goes.

TerribleTim,
Yeah, it's one of the nicer things about living on Whidbey Island. Even if the weather is forcasting a 70% chance of rain it rarely does, and if it does actually rain it's more of a sprinkling. I'm at a class here on base (NASWI). I'll see if I can make it to Legend sometime soon, maybe even on a Wednesday sometime. I'm not sure about this Sunday yet though.

I don't make it out to Legend very often myself, but it does make a nice ride from my place!

Tim, we need to know when your schedule clears up a bit, we will bomb down 3 to see you at the "That Place" resturant. Sam, Sunday rides will be coming up to Whidbey soon. I always love to head up there for the Fourth of July too. Did 10 years up at that base, there are some amazing shore drives up there and just on the side of mainland. Come see us for our Anniversary party if you get the chance. March 31 (Saturday)
Dubueller, we need to go mud hunting out Belfair way soon. : D

Xslicker,

I'm gonna get my dirt fix riding the Odessa 100 desert race in a couple of weeks on My "little" bike (XR650):

http://www.stumpjumpers.org/dez100/

I'd like to go sometime with you on the CityX. I went off-road riding with Ulendo in Canada last summer, and he rode the shite out of his CityX. He even tore it up a little that day. (broken parts and a badly dented muffler) I'd like to see the other BadWeB'er (you) that off roads a CityX. Ulendo put on one hell of a show for me and my bro that weekend. We can try sometime to get together soon and do some riding. If not, I'll see you at Sportbike Northwest this summer. It is on my "to do"list:

Nice to see some more Buell's in WA. My name is Brad Haley and I race the only Buell in WA State. The team would love it if we could get some Buell supporters out at the race track this weekend. The weather is supposed to be decent but chilly.

BillyBob - Welcome to our neck of the rain, I mean woods! When did you get here? Last summer was a record season, hopefully this one will be similar. Global warming be damned! Lake Stevens is a ways up there. I know Legend in Silverdale is good, you can talk to Brian personally, he will take care of you. Several others on here will vouch for him. Good guy! I have chatted with Downtown Harley in Tukwila (just south of Seattle), they are into Buells and are not afraid to work on them, sell them, carry clothing, etc. Sound Harley is the new shop up by you, but they are NOT a Buell dealer. Destination Harley in Tacoma (Fife) is another Buell dealer in the area, but they don't really cater to us, more a Harley shop, with some Buells in stock. Hope to see you out and about!

Brad - You gonna be at the "All Harley Drags" this year? I always take my chrome chariot on the "Children's Ride". Maybe I can watch you run then! Between my own racecar and finding time to ride, that's about my only chance!

I agree with terribletim's dealer thoughts. I was sponsored by Downtown a few years ago when we first started racing and they have some good folks there. Legend i haven't been to too much but Jacqi in Motorclothes says there is a good guy there to talk to about Buell's. My parents live over there in that area of Poulsbo/Silverdale and go there. R and R American Cycle in Auburn has been doing my dyno work on the bike and are doing a superb job.

Race times and dates are as follows. Thanks Molly the more the better. we usually always BBQ in the pits as well so it would be alot of fun to have Buell's surrounding us and hangin out.

Pacific Raceways
Saturday -Middle Weight GP Twins 4:10
Sunday -Formula Thunder 10:40
-Open GP Twins 11:40

May 5-6 Pacific Raceways
Saturday - Formula Thunder 3:15
Sunday - Middle Weight GP Twins 3:00
-Open GP Twins 4:10

This should give everyone an idea. You can find the schedule at my website or can go to WMRRA.com and get the dates and times there as well.

The Harley Drags would be Sunday, June 24th. That is the day of the Childrens-Ride. Not sure on any other dates. Childrens-Ride is open to any bike, so you guys should all show up! It's for a good cause and your ticket gets you in the drags!

Brad,

I have seen your bike at the races, but not you.

I was there a couple of times with a friend, Alister M.

I'll try to make it up to Pac rcwy this weekend. My uly is in the shop, so I'll be on my SV650

Maybe we will have to come by. Luckily the family brings the food. I wonder the same about car racers. I assume car racing cost's more than bike racing? Looks like a good time. I see you might be racing at Spokane Raceway. When we race the bikes there we usually go over and watch the oval racing at night

I would guess car racing is a bit more expensive, only due to bigger parts. But I've never dabbled in bike racing, so not sure really. I know we go through a lot more gas and tires! At $5.50 a gallon and $100 a tire, it chews up money in a hurry! I figure we drop about $250 just to show up, not counting the gas it took to get there or food while there. Hopefully you don't break anything or end up wrecked. Those are the good days. But if you try not to hurt it, you won't have any fun! I made it out for one race last season, the car came back missing most of the front end and the drivers door. Guess those guys leading don't like it when you pass them! One race, cost me about $500 in repair work, and I didn't even finish the race. Sure was fun though! I've never been to Spokane Raceway Park. Lookin' forward to it. I hear it's fast, I like fast!

WEll I guess it comes out to be about the same. I run 110 in the Buell and tires if you aren't sponsored are about $360 for a set. 5 gallon can of gas is about $50.

Sorry to high jack the thread just noticed WA riders and would like to have some Buell's and Harley's at the track.
