Howdy all,

I posted a link with some problems I'm having with the Technoresearch VSDTS here:

http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/384 2/268131.html?1175294650

I'm not sure how many people actually look there, so I posted a link here just in case. I hope this is not frowned upon. If so, I apologize. Any help would be very much appreciated!

I know that the vdsts tool can be picky sometimes but considering your situation I think that your assumption might be right. I would talk to all from american sportbike. he knows that software inside and out and will be able to point you in the right direction.

ps nice name!! the starbellied_sneetch's were awesome. I was always a fan or Yurtle the Turtle

Make sure the connection plug is clean and your kill switch is on.You might want to uninstall the program and reinstall just to make sure you have a good install. My scanner from american sport bike works great.

I would try it with a PC using the Standard Serial Port and ditch the USB adapter to make sure that isn't the problem.

I just bought Direct-Link from American Sport Bike and it connects with no issues but I am using the serial port on my laptop ... USB only for the dongle.

Plug is clean and kill switch is on. I downloaded and installed the newest software and it made no difference. Unfortunately, my laptop has no serial port, so I can't try that. I'd like to find another Bueller in the area so I could hook it to their bike and see if it connects. I wonder how else I can test the ECM to see if it's messed up?

I figured I'd call Al and/or the manufacturer during business hours, but I'm impatient!

Are you using the keyspan adapter from American Sport Bike? If not that is probably your problem
