Anyone know how to get clutch pack off with out HD-38515-a spring compresser and HD-38515-91 forceing screw? My stator went out this weekend and parts will be here by wed morning. Started tearing apart tonight and relized I didnt have tools I needed.I am leaveing thur Morning for march Baddness.If I have to have them where can I get them fast? thanks

I think there is a simple home made item that can work for this, Sorry I have no link but perhaps you could try the search engine....

Glenn, you dont have to take the clutch apart to get at the stator!

You remove the primary chain with the front sprocket and the clutch basket as an assembly.

There are two snaprings in the center of the clutch basket, the outer one is only for dissasembling the clutch basket(ie. removing the plates). You want to remove only the inner snap ring so that you can access the hub nut.

So you dont need the compressor tools, that would be making more work for your self.

Glenn - is the tool you need the one you're getting from Danny at MBIV? I remember it being for replacing the stator. If so, PM and see if he can overnight one to you now.

The only special tool he might need is a primary locking bar.

But Glenn's quite crafty, I'm sure he can fabricate one quickly.

Thanks fritz I knew there had to be a simpler way. I knew someone on BadWeb would know.Took off work early today to work on it. just got in and UPS pulled in drive way with parts.Thanks smokescreen at SM harly davidson BUELL!!!
