Here's a pic of my stock muffler. My race muffler was a little too loud for my early morning blasts, and I like to speed with stealth so I put a stock muffler back on. I really like the under engine exhaust so I decided to remove the brackets and chin spoiler altogether to show it off. Cut, filed and sanded the brackets off. Then had it high heat powder coated black. I like the way it looks and 'ITS WHISPER QUIET!!'

Fireflyer,
Which ECM are you using?
You had the race muffler. I assume you had the race ECM.
Did you keep it in the bike?
I am thinking of putting the stock muffler back on my bike.
I would like to continue to use the race ECM.
If you did the same, how does it run?

Hi Old_man, I hate to say it but I've run the stock ECM the whole time. I know you're supposed to match them, but I got a good deal on just the race muffler so I put it on and went with it for a while. It performed great and ran crisp and smooth. I had it Dynoed @ Danbury HD-Buell and it had 77.9 hp and 63.4 ft-lbs at the rear wheel with the stock ecm and race muffler, no other mods. I've seen that to be a pretty good figure for a 9. The power curve was pretty good also. I'm sure the performance would have been better with the whole kit (filter, ecm, race muffler), but I was happy with the way it was for the short time I had it on the bike.

I think it would be OK to run the stock muffler with the race ECM.
If anyone knows for sure, let me know.

I like the naked look as well. It makes a short bike look even shorter and meaner.

Hey Mike, I'm in Middlebury. We've met a couple times. A while ago. My bike was stock except for my Ventura rack grab rail. I was on the group ride with Rod from Danbury to Bear MT. and then I saw you at Liberty when Erik was there. I had just sold my MX-5 hardtop in NY that morning. I talked a little to you, Hammer and Rich, I think, from Shelton, and some other Badwebers also. Good times both days.
