Ok, dunno what this would fall under, but heck.

I know my oil pressure sensor has failed. Light won't come on when key is turned and bike is off. Did some testing and found the light and wire to be good, sensor bad.

So, the manual says I need a special tool to get it out. Was wondering if anyone knows if you really need this tool or if they used some other tool or means to get the old one out and new one in?

Yes No_rice a deep well socket will work just fine. Make sure it's the right size and don't cross thread the thing. pretty easy.

1 1/16 fits nicely, I just replaced the one on my RS. Silly thing only made it 16 years.

I used a pipe wrench... Once I moved it just a little I could twist it with my hands.

I had to tighten mine once when it started leaking a few months back. I would swear I used my old small block chevy oil pressure switch socket.
