I have the Nitrous side completed and am getting ready to tackle the fuel side of the system....

Question..............

Can you just "T" into the fuel line as it is and run another fuel line to the solinoid? OR do you need to make "Hard" connections off of the fuel line as in all new lines from off the pump? Thinking I Would you need to buy the 3 lines all with them connections for a clean look?

Just trying to figure out how to tackle this as the fuel side is a high pressure system running around 50 psi I believe. I also like the "Clean look" when possible, especially if it is showing.

What size line is the fuel line?

Unfortunately I am not sure because I have not actually looked at the fuel lines yet on these bikes.

But when I installed them on cars a lot of kits would actually have you remove the Schrader valve from the test port and they would provide you with a specific size line that would thread right into it and then the other end would go to the solenoid. Not sure if our bikes have something similar as a test port

yes that is how i did it on a couple of my cars, bike is new to me and with MBIV so close i didn't want to mess it up and be stuck.

I guess i will have to look into this myself......

Hard to believe NO one knows the answer here, may need to go to another board for the answer..

cant remember the fuel line size.

first i just T'd of the line. there should be plenty of pressure to feed the shot you are planning. cant remember the specific pump pressure. all my notes are at work.

currently i am running a whole seperate fuel system. seperate line and pump that just feeds the fuel side.

Wet side most set-ups use a separate fuel pump--and it is not that high a pressure. So if you plumb into the fuel system on yours you will have to experiment to get proper pill size.Course it is better to be rich than lean, lean hurts stuff.

that seems to have been the problem i kept running into i believe. trying to knock the fuel down enough so it didnt over power the nitrous and bog down instead of speed up, but not so lean i blow up! the sizes have ended up being plenty different than what is recommended.

I am running a paranha nozzle on this set up. Any sugestions for what size jets to start off with?

I was conserned that just "T"ing into the fuel side would be bad. Running roughly 50psi in the fuel side, seemed like alot of pressure for that. But I don't really know.

I guess I just need find out what size the gas line is and get a "T" and give it a whirl.

I am starting in the 10-15hp range and will go from there. I have some dyno time coming up and will use it to check the A/F before going higher in HP.

Saw this in reference to methanol but it is applicable to your fuel pressure questions.Just do the math with your fuel pressure numbers to get a jet size to start with.
To run Nitrous Oxide with Alcohol, you need to run 40% more fuel. To figure out the jet size needed, if you we're running a #24 jet on gas, on alcohol you would need a #34 jet ( 24x140%=33.6, almost a 34), or you need to take the fuel pressure up 40%, if you were running 6 lbs before, with alcohol, you would need to run 8.4 lbs of fuel pressure and run the same size jet.

Thanks for the info guys!

I think I am just going to find out what size tube the fuel line is and tap into it for now.

I may do something different at a later point.

Purge kit...Purges out both scoops....Kinda overkill but i had the solinoid from another kit...

your fuel pump should be able to supply enough for up to around 120-125 hp iirc.
If you do t off of the fuel a pressure regulator would probably be a good idea.
The suggested jet/pill sizes are assuming a fairly moderate fuel pressure, the manufacturer
of your nozzle should be able to tell you how much fuel pressure is appropriate.

On Tim's (No_Rice) bike we put in a Nitrous Xpress fuel pump I had left over from
an old project of mine (one of my old gixxers). The pump is plumbed into the drain
fitting on the access plate for the fuel pump on the left side of the frame.

Don't mean to sound obvious but why don't you just use (temp' or permanent) gauges to measure the fuel pressure on the rail and its flow?
I love the wrapping on the header pipes. The rest of the bike looks tidy too.
