I've not seen the thread, but it seems like this would be a difficult one to pull off.
There's nowhere near the room needed for the ECM, fuse box, and whatever else goes behind the fairing, to fit behind the flyscreen.
Then you have to notch out the modules that hold the flyscreen, so your R triple will fit.
Then you have to get the RR front brake controls (or something similar, with a not-attached reservoir) because the built-in unit won't go all the way up the bar before it hits the flyscreen, so you have an inch + of grip not getting on the bar.
You also need to remember to put the clutch cable through the hole you just drilled in the flyscreen module so the clutch cable will reach.
There's probably more that I can't remember.
It's doable, as long as you can figure out the electronics out.
I guess if you swapped wiring harnesses with an S you could put the electronics under the tail section.

No Rice, I am doing that conversion as we speak and I got an S harness, no way in hell are you getting the R wires in that little space. Now you could butcher the wire harness but I would advise you not to do such a thing.

Dago did the opposite, put an entire S model to R model, front and rear.

He is a helpful guy, may have ideas.

i know there is ALOT to it. this is for someone i know. i have been trying to convince them that they would be getting in over their head to try and do it. i know it is do able, but there is the whole wiring thing. i said that would have to be moved around. he was contemplating mounting the fuse blocks in the air box. i knew it wouldnt fit in the s front. then he wants to keep the r bars. i said that he would have to modify the new parts he got and notch the pieces so that they would work. and also relocate the key. and on and on....

i told him to sell it and buy an s and we'd put an r tail on it, lol.

Putting the fuse blocks in the airbox is an idea. But you're still having to butcher the wiring harness.
Putting an R tail on an S, and then doing the R triple, would be the best way to go for your friend.

I still have some spare S parts left over from my conversion that may be helpful. PM me if you're interested. I'd just like to see them out of the bone yard in my garage.
