I was shopping around on Americansportsbike.com(as I do way too often) and came across the K&N breather filter. In the description it states,"crankcase filter allows you to design the breather system you want". It looks sweet. I was just wondering what it improves(if anything), how and where the heck you install it, and finally do any of you fellow Buellers have one and if so how do you like it? My bike is a 07 XB9R. Thanks...

catch can collects the goo that would normally collect in the intake area. somebody will give a better explanation please as i too am not quite sure exactly what they do. kevin at kdfab sells a nice one that will match the drummer logo that i was looking at.

Catch can??

Barf bottle, puke tank, yack sack... You get the idea. It allows the oil vapor and combustion by-products in the crankcase to escape and /or condense out side of the engine intake air filter. Oil in the fuel lowers detonation resistance of the air / fuel mixture.

HTH.

I was just curious, Has anyone just put two of these filters on the tubes where they come into the airbox, and used an open airbox?
