Wonderful!
I cannot wait.
The guys at Glendale are great, they mended all the bikes issues and then some.
It runs like a champ and is eager to have some fun...
Thank you for making all of this possible.
Best,
Peter

Did they tell you what the issue was? I'm curious.

Well it turns out that the TPS was off quite a bit, but the timing turned out to be just right.
Another issue turned out to be that the rear coil was failing and the assembly had to be replaced.
It runs better then it was running before, and does not seem to ping anymore...
Overall this turned out much better then expected.
Not to mention,
TRACK DAY tomorrow!
I will try to get someone to make a video/take photos...
It should be a blast!

WAAAY COOL!

I've got the little truck loaded up, tools, spares, generator, pop-up shade.

Looking forward to this day (I'm helping in the pits, I've been in the saddle the last 3 days at Willow!)

Hope all have a hoot!

See you in a couple hours from now.

Excellent news. Chalk up yet another problem caused by shop/tech incompetence. Please let us know which shop caused this problem. Kudos to Glendale for resolving it.

If you paid any money for the initial botched TPS reset, you should have it refunded and then some.

Warbaby had a similar experience. He had his TPS reset at the 1000 mile service and his bike ran very poorly. Stalling, hard starting, etc.

He brought it to my garage where I connected my VDTS software to the ECM. Viola! Problem solved. He's a happy guy.

When he called the dealer to tell them what happened, they were shocked that someone could get their hands on a "digital technician". : ) LOL!

I had a similar problem with my 04XB12S. I had the TPS reset and they reset the fuel value to 100%. It was at 98% and they even showed me on the diagnostic machine (which I couldn't believe they even let me in there!) So the AFV of a Buell in terms of value is how much fuel the ECM has the injectors "inject" in open loop? Just trying to fully understand this. Learning about the bike is a good hobby! I'm with the guy who says "I LOVE THIS SIGHT!"

Too bad that Kane (riding the MV Agusta) wadded it up - he had onboard video! (and got a little carried away, so it seems)

Bartel's Harley Davidson is the one responsible...
Financially everything has been taken care of.

Yeah seeing the MV on the back of the pickup really disturbed me, it was an unpleasant moment.
Is he feeling alright since the accident, and how is the bike doing?

Here are a few shots from the day,
sadly I never got around to asking someone to take some pictures of me riding...
Here is the bike in its full glory (fancy racing stripe and everything)

A shot of the other group doing their thing...

This thing was a blast, cant wait to do it again...
And the tires look like they are up for a few more track days, so it will be no way near as pricey the upcoming time.

Ken Ryder was there taking pics during the track day (maaaaybe).

HE was the guy doing one of the briefings at the beginning but this track day was the LAST day for him on a CA track since he and Jane are moving to Dallas... I saw him riding the R6 a LOT so not sure if he got photos.

He's a buddy of mine, I'll email him to find out

Peter, blue has been shown to be a faster color - so good choice on your racing stripe!! : D

Just heard back from Ken - they didn't have a staff photographer out that day.

Beth Chaconas was taking some pics but those were mostly of her husband Jim and of Steve Natt for his article.

Well - each Willow Springs race weekend the Friday preceding it has Street rider sessions. You might consider that. I can get you details. They do that every month of the year.

These are the GOOD track day operations who also have expert Buell experienced racers:

http://www.Fastrackriders.com

http://www.trackexperience.com

They are all running at Willow Springs - though in April, Trackexperience I think is only running the big track.

Actually, the big track at Willow Springs is much easier to get into a rhythm riding. Once you've done a few laps, you can really have fun. Much wider so passing and being passed isn't as intimidating.

Track Experience does put on an EXCELLENT operation - food too! Besides, one of their staff - Tim Hurley ALSO has a red XB12R streetbike (he's a WSMC racer too)

TrackDaz is a great group of folks - local racers. No Buell racers on staff though.

http://www.trackdaz.com

Fastrackriders was the group riding the other track when you were on the streets. Jeff Dixon - one of their instructors - races an XB and can really REALLY give you some great instruction and help with set-up. He was the guy who came into our pits and came out at the end of the day to help our guys with suspension setup - bike 883 - the one I hooked up to with the laptop.

Let me know, I'll usually be able to break away for a day - though I'm also going to do Friday, Saturday and Sunday on our race weekend. A 4th day is usually pushing it for me in a month.

Peter - forgot to add that Kane is doing just fine (physically fine, emotionally I'd imagine that having dropped his MV, well... I can only imagine) He was talking in the pits about maybe having to sell the bike - bummer for him but turns out he lost his job and expensive habits are, well, expensive! He's got a stable of cars and bikes.

Steve, thanks for the info. I will search around and see what I can manage...
Too bad about Kane's bike, I hope it all works out for him, send him my regards.
John, thanks for the great offer. If I am ever up there and decide to do a TPS I will certainly let you know.
