I was unfortunate enough to have the kickstand fail to hold my bike upright. I am now waiting for the dealer to receive the following parts; kickstand, L mirror, L foot peg, clutch lever, L handlebar. It's been a little over a week now. The dealer said Buell is "funny" about getting parts out. I ain't laughing, brand new bike just sitting there. whaaa!

From the Horse's Mouth....."Buell ships all parts within 24 hours of receipt of the order".

Ask your dealer to confirm with their SPOC rep that the order was placed AND received. Then ask for the pick number.

Dick,
Find a better dealer. Buell got out my last kickstand (white '01 X1 kickstand to go on my 98 S1) in 24hrs or less.
While your asking your dealer questions, ask them when they order parts. Usually it's once a week.

Had the same problem the second day I owned the bike last may. When the first batch of bikes were shipped the dealers all got a "care" package of all the likely parts to be damaged. So I was back on the road in less than five minutes. The only reason it took so long was they had a hard time finding the "care" package. The only part I needed to wait on was the shroud over the oil cooler. It took about a week if I remember.

Dick, order from BadWeb sponsor - Waterloo, HD Buell. They had my parts to my door in 6 business days (and yeah all the parts had to be ordered).

Good idea Josh. In the future I just may go that route. The dealer is fixing all of it for no $. I guess my next purchase will be a shop manual, glad I splurged on the extended warranty. Hopefully tomorrow the dealer will have the pick number and tell me its been sent. Too bad the weather is so nice and the bike is so much fun.

Just replaced the clutch cable on my 98 S3T. It took one week to get the clutch cable (they weren’t in stock). Typical Buell bull-shit as usual. I could care less WHEN the dealership orders parts or what the Horse's Mouth quote on turn arounds (not that anyone asked). Unfortunately (I guess) I choose to live in reality.

I'm very glad I didn't splurge on the extended warranty as dealers have caused more problems than they solved. 4 years and 46,000miles and the cash I've spent on repairs is peanuts next to an extended warranty.

Dick:

If a merchant you are paying your money to is laughing at you...WALK.

I needed parts to go to Amsterdam. Waterloo had them in my hands within days.

Go where you are treated like a customer, not a victim.

Buell, the company, has made HUGE improvements in parts delivery.

I'd like to think they were laughing with me. The parts have shipped (nudge nudge wink wink), might arrive monday. One can only hope.

There was a recall on some Firebolt kickstands... seems that the bike would fall over and break stuff if left with engine running... DOES THIS APPLY??? I thought I read someplace if a recalled model fell... the repairs were also paid for by Buell.
