Author Message   Nickdz Posted on Saturday, February 24, 2007 - 08:47 am:        Does anybody know the part # for the "upgraded" XB12Ss's sidestand? This is in regards to the known problem of the sidestands on Buell's failing. Only the XB12X has the official recall on the sidestand, but I've read a lot about sidestands on other Buell's failing as well. I'd like to purchase the "upgraded" sidestand kit and install it myself (before mine fails), but I need to first order the part from my Buell dealer. When I checked with my dealer, they didn't know anything about an "upgraded" kit for any bike other than the Uly. They only had the part normal # shown in their catalog. Please help... thanks.   Ironhead1977 Posted on Saturday, February 24, 2007 - 02:34 pm:        The stand is not failing. The pivot bolt is coming loose and backing out, letting the stand fall off. Take the bolt out and locktite it back in.Don't forget to grease the pivot while you have it apart.
