Long Pond, Pennsylvania.

I'm taking California Superbike School there in May. Click on my name (to the left) to see a photo from last year's class. I did Level 1 and 2 on my M2 Cyclone. I traded that in for my XB12Ss Lightning Long on which I took Level 3 and I'm scheduled now for Level 4. Woo-hoo! Keith Code ROCKS!

What do you need to prepare your bike? Are you guys all riding up, I would love to get up to a few track events, and met Anthony at Liberty and he was talking to me about it.

Ryann, I'm sad I was forgotten...

You told me you would let me know so I could make plans to go with you guys, and now I see that this event has already been organized. What have I done to deserve this injustice?

nobody cares about me... sigh....

But I want to go too! Who cares that I wasn't invited personally, I want to go!!!

All the answers to your questions are there. It'll be the best money you've ever spent on your Buell.

Does Mutant know about this one? He told me he was waiting to set a track day up when I saw him at the NY Bike Show. I'll be there--maybe Pete and Seth too?

The April 15 Pocono date is on the East course.

For who ever asked, here are the safety and bike prep requirements for Team Pro Motion http://www.teampromotion.com/media/trackbasics.pdf

Im going to try to make it. Have to see if I finish the winter upgrades to the bike by then.

See you all there
Seth

Mutant knows. He asked me if I would go when we spoke last week. I spoke to Pete too. I'm going to try to make it. I need to find a cheap 1 piece suit though. The rentals are a bit iffy.
Pete and I also discussed getting together an email list of North Jersey Buell riders (and others) so that we can announce informal street rides. This is what Edison Bragg did and it worked out well. We had some good times chasing Seth. Nothing formal, just a list of interested riders. Liberty probably has a list of Buell customers too.

Cool! That's the same course Keith Code uses for Superbike School (and Pridmore too, when he used to bring C.L.A.S.S. to the east coast). Nice, tight, technical track; tailor made for Buells, I'd say!

There's one hairpin that must be more than 180 degrees. It's really hard to get it right. They have the apex marked and it's not where you'd expect. I can't wait to try it again.

I apologize for not inviting everyone individually. We are still going to arrange a Liberty event to a track day for everyone to enjoy. I kind of stumbled upon this day looking at the calendar and figured I would sign up and see if anyone wanted to go. It does seem that there is a good pack of guys that are interested in attending. Lets DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!

The corner that your talking about is called the Bus Stop and as Jaimec said, it has a late apex. According to the Team Pro Motion coaches, there are a few different correct lines through it. Over all, the East course is a fun technical track that suits the Buells strengths well. It certainly levels the playing field somewhat when riding against higher hp bikes. The condition of the track surface is getting worse as the years go buy, and it seems as though since there is no longer much road course racing, the owners are not putting much effort in maintenance of the infield circuits. But hey, dodging pot holes is part of the fun.

Hey Steve this year you can bring both of the vehicles in your profile pic to the track and run them the same day. TPM is doing bike/car combo days where they alternate sessions. Can you say lots of seat time?

You are definitely ready for some "hair of the dog".

Seth
I saw the Porsches there last year at the March track day we were at. I'm tempted. I don't think I have the strength anymore. I'm still recovering from 3 days of snowboarding last week.

Hey Steve.

When we were at Pocono the Porsche Club of America was running on the track next to us. Seth was saying that TPM is going to be running cars this year. Basically, several event will have the red and blue groups combined and then the former blue group will become a car group. You can run for 15 min on your bike, then go back to the pits, jump in your car and head right back out.

Talk to you soon. Pete

Pocono is bumpy as hell but fun nonetheless. If there is a suspension guy around turning screws for people, take advantage of it, he will be better than you, and probably get damn close the first time by just bouncing the bike and asking your weight and riding style.

East is tight enough to stay in front of many of the faster bikes (everyone not on a Buell or XV650). The Buell works really well there and there are some very cool passing spots.

I have gotten frustrated with spending the whole trip through the infield trying to pass a guy, getting by, then watching him just squirt away on the banking straight. Next lap, same thing. Best thing to do is pull into the starting grid and get back in a different spot, rather than getting frustrated.

That sucks about the cars, 15 min is too short. They should do three 20 minute groups like NESBA, you leave the day with 33% more riding time. That last 5-10 minutes of the 20 minute session is where things seem to gel the most for me, where I am comfortable and learning things.

Pocono East is too narrow for cars anyway, a friend of mine did a track day there with is Miatta and hated it, nowhere to pass in the infield.

I think DafanZ Tuning will be there. They are suspension guys. He's got a new contract with TPM to do suspension work and support at events. He's also a racer (even managed to make an AMA grid last year and didn't finish last!) ..

In other news.. I won't be making this one.. Other things (work) say I can't have it since I'll just be getting back from a little jaunt overseas. Oh well.. some other time I suppose..

I think you guys should be packing your snow gear--expecting 4-8 inches over the course of this weekend (maybe more..). Anyone hear if its been postponed? And if you did, what is the rescheduled date?
Weather is supposed to change over from snow to rain to snow/sleet. The website for Team Promotion only describes their refund policy for weather related cancelations and the Pocono Raceway website only has contact info.
