The Buell Torque grips are an improvement over the stockers. I'd recommend them. Otherwise, get with Al @ American Sport Bike and see what else he can hook you up with. He's got some gel stuff you may be interested in. | ||

I like the Buell Traction grips. They fit the hand better than the shape of the standard grips. IMHO To control vibration on my XB9S, I installed the "Bar Snake". On the short barred R, bar end weights would help. You would have to cut the end holes out of the Traction grips to install them. | ||

I made a DIY $4 bar snake by putting lead fishing weight on a copper wire. It worked surprising well. If I have time I may improve the design buy coating the lead polyurathane. | ||

I can also recommend the Buell Traction grips. Nice shape that fills your hand so that the bars don't feel skinny. | ||

 There are three elements in reducing hand vibration. The composition of the grip, is probably the least important, believe it or not. Relaxing one's grip on the bars as one becomes more used to the bike is probably the most important, IMHO. Lowering the resonant frequency of the bars by increasing their mass, is probably the second most important item. Here are the HVMP bar ends, used in conjunction with the Buell Traction grips. They are heavy stainless steel bar ends that fit easily into the ends of the handlebar, and not only reduce vibration, but protect the bike, and levers in case of a tip over. Made by a Bad Webber:-), and they work. Other mass loading techniques all have their advocates, and most work to one degree or another. | ||

American Sportbike carries some thick gel handgrips, and the "tread" pattern actually matches the pattern in out heel guards. I have them on my bike... they're pretty comfy, and don't require any adhesive. You do, however, have to cut the ends out if you wanna' use bar ends. Not a big deal with an X-acto knife. I have tried many styles of grips, The most comfortable ones have been the Buell Traction Grips By Far. IF you were to add The HVMP Bar Ends to these I feel you would have the best of both worlds. comfort and little vibration I actually run the Rizoma Grips and they are a little hard (ok alot) but it has tought me to relax my grip and keep my weight off my wrists. So I have not changed them......yet | ||

I must have mis-stated when I was talking about Torque grips. After looking at the pic posted of the Traction grips, that's what I've got on my bike right now. The palm swell is probably the biggest thing I like about them. They conform to your hand a lot better. I don't really have much of a vibration issue in the bars on my bike though. Both the stock bars and the Crossroads I run on the bike now seem fine to me. Good gloves are a big help too. I started off with a cheap pair of Joe Rockets and my hands used to cramp. Now I ride in Alpine Stars GP Pros and they're much more comfortable. Also, it was good advice to practice relaxing your grip on the bars. Since I became aware of my deathgrip, riding became a lot more comfortable and I feel like I have better control of the bike because I'm using more subtle inputs. | ||

Sounds like the Traction grips are the way to go. Combined with the Rizoma bar ends I ordered, I hope this system will keep my hands awake.  | ||

Progrips on both the Buell and the Kawi. OEM bars should be 7/8" OD | ||

A good set of riding gloves will do wonders for that vibration. In the summer I use some motocross gloves and they are kind of have thicker padding. Works great | ||

was gonna order a set of the traction grips for my buell , but was thinking of trying a set on my triumph . they come with the throttle sleeve though so guessing i'd have to buy 2 pair to use on another bike ? or possible to remove the sleeve w/o damaging the grip ? | ||

my triumph grips came with the throttle sleeve as well, i was able to peel it right off without damaging it, and rolled it right on my buell throttle sleeve, no problemo! | ||
