Slap one of these on my firebolt.

Yall think it can be done? (with out alot of mods) Looks like it just mounts up to the bolts that are used for the passenger pegs. Do you think it will mount up flush with a R tail?

Yes

NO

Yes but there are additional metal tabs that extend off the cheese grater and the left side incoperates the key to remove the seat, SO if you do not relocate the key from your 'Bolt you will have a hole.

Afraid not, While the plate does have a radius to it, in no way will it match close to the radius of the 'Bolt's rear end.

But cool idea.

gonna try it on my Lightning, not for the looks, but rather function. I figure with the soft sport bag luggage I got, these number plates will give them a place to rest against and strap to with out having them flap in the wind.

4ueuh,
i know it sounds crazy, but i'm thinking the same thing about soft luggage support. (bigger than the buell brand)

but i'm thinking of getting a pair for another reason, someplace to put the numbers for bonneville. This year i'm going the "run whacha brung" route so i can get my feet wet. But when I get serious it would be the place to hang a set of #s.
plus, they might/might not help the streamlining. I've got an s, so the support bracket would (i hope) just bolt up. no pun intended.

Hey Barker; I figured a way to put S3 bags on my M2. Some people liked it, some thought I was nuts. However, I wanted bags, so I found a way to do it.
It's YOUR bike. Set it up the way you like. If someone doesn't like it, they can do whatever they want to personalize their own bike. If you succeed in putting the plates on your Firebolt, I guaranty that someone will come up to you and tell you how neat it looks.

Soft luggage works fine without the number plates.

I don't believe the holes line up from the passenger brackets. That's what I was told by a reliable source.

I don't think the yellow one looks too bad, but the blue one with that angle makes it look way too large.

To each their own.

I think the yellow one XRing uploaded looked OK. I prefer naked, but that one was decent.

Went to the dealer to get my free "skullcap" and look and the TT's plates with a firebolt right beside it.

Two problems:

1. The plate will fit any S (lightning) model no problem, but the fire bolt might have a problem. It's undertail bulges out around the points where the passenger pegs mount up. It might require a bit of dremel work to fit.

2. The plate is bigger than I thought. Xring's and Brine's pics are way out of proportion. It looks like it will cover part of my swing arm.

I think I will get the right side plate only and try it. The key hole on the other side looked a bit silly.

In the pic's on buell.com the TT just looks like the ULY's little sister, but in person TT looks better. The dealer slapped on a kick ash SX air box cover on it. Looks slick.

I'd like a set of black ones for my Firebolt with Cherry Bomb red numbers.... how much does a set of the plates cost? If they are "cheap" I wont mind cutting them up.

My second pic should be porportioned correctly as I made both bikes to their specs before I stole the number plate from one, and swapped it to the other.

Good luck on the adventure. Keep us posted.
