Excuse me if this has already been discussed, but have any of you Uly riders seen this? http://tinyurl.com/2n3e8u

Parabellum used to do BMW exclusively, but while I was poking around their site I found that and I'm sure some of you will find that intriguing...

What... on... EARTH ???

I can't decide if it looks more like a Roman tower shield or the head of the Queen in "Aliens". If you need wind protection that bad, probably should have gotten a cruiser!

That won't stay on ling at speed before it atempts to decapitate the rider!

Both Buell and Cee Baileys taller screens have suffered from the problem of flying off at speed, and Cee Bailey have actually withdrawn their extended screens from sale and replaced them with a new one piece screen that replaces both the clear and plastic part. Personally I think it is very ugly, but at least it won't scare the life out of you at 90mph.

I'm betting you replace the plastic pop-in plugs with screws... as you do with the tall shield from Buell...

Its a naked bike! If you want a windshield, get a car.

This shield has had a lot of discussion over on the "Big, Bad & Dirty" side of the house. They added additional support for the windshield that attaches half-way up the shield, which connects to the cross bar. It also has four bolts that attach to the fly screen instead of the stock plugs.

The Uly owner that loaned his bike to Parabellum for the engineering of this product says that it is very stable (no flexing at all) all the way up to interstate speeds.

It seems like most people buying them are planning to use the big shield during the winter months only (when many bikes just sit in the garage).

In fact, I just ordered one for my trip from Alabama to Colorado in three weeks. We'll see how it goes.

Parabellum has been in business for decades servicing the BMW community. There was no doubt in my mind that they'd build a quality product despite what some naysayers here might say based on just a photograph. I'm sure it'll work out well for you.

One of the biggest complaints I've seen regarding the Ulysses is that it isn't a proper sport touring bike. I'm not sure why people would say that, but this screen goes a long way to providing the weather protection a "proper" sport tourer should provide.

I just wish I could get locking hard bags for my XB12Ss. I don't need the funky dirtbike looks or ultra tall suspension of the Uly.

Jaimec,

Couldn't you just swap out tail sections with the Uly and pick up bags to fit?

The problem for hard bags (if you want the ones the Uly has) are the mounting brackets. The SS tail section just isn't long enough.

Might be worth a try.

Putting a set of pelican bags for the sides and running a H&B sporttrunk for a top case. room for a full two weeks of camping and even some spare gas. I will post pics as soon as the brackets are fabbed up.

I find the dirty air coming off the small stock windscreen at 85 + mph really uncomfortable at my neck, even slightly tucked in. I'm 5-10". Anyone with the taller one from buell finding relief?

Dave,

I am 5'11" and have the Buell tall windscreen. It works better than the stock one but still has too much buffetting. I use it in the winter and for longer rides but in the summer I ride windscreen free and like it a lot.

Frank, I tried your advise with no screen, even with the high winds here today in South Florida it was much more comfortable! Thanx.
