Does anyone have a lightning long that they have changed the seat on? The stock seat is ok at best, I was wondering what anyone else has found with either the touring seat, or the select seat. I havn't seen an aftermarket seat either for the long yet. I have ridden an XB9s with a corbin and licked that one. | ||

I put the sport saddle on from Buell ACCY. I like the look, it is noticeably firmer than the stock one and puts you up about an inch higher. | ||

I bought the touring seat. I've got the two-tone sport saddle. It's firmer, my legs aren't as cramped as they are with the stock saddle, and there's slightly more weight on my hands. It is much easier to slide side-to-side and back and forth on this saddle than with the stock saddle (which makes me feel glued into place). I also like the two-tone look on my sunset orange bike. | ||

Jaimec, Is the sport seat overall more comfortable? Do you sit in a more leaned over position? How is it on the a@#? | ||

Buellinachinashop, how does the touring seat change your riding position? I know it sits you one inch lower. Do your legs get more cramped? Do you sit more upright, or leaned over than stock? | ||

The sport seat is firmer than the stock seat, but I adapted to it quickly. It is far easier to slide my butt around so I don't get locked into a single position as easily. There is a LITTLE more weight on my hands, but it's still nothing like a full sportbike tuck. My legs are less kinked up (more relaxed) on the pegs too. Overall, I find it more comfortable than the stock saddle. I've done several 200 mile days with the bike since I installed that saddle without any ill effects. | ||

Thanks Jaimec, I like the look of the sport seat better than the touring. But If I'm spending the $200.00 I want to like it, I'm sure exchanging it won't be easy. The Orange on your bike looks good. | ||

Exchange? I didn't exchange, I still have the stock saddle. It's a bit more comfortable for my passenger (the few times I carry her on the bike). 99% of the time, however, I have the sport saddle in place. | ||

No, I meant if I got the sport, or touring seat and didn't like it and wanted to trade it for the other. I guess I should try the stock seat for a few hundred miles. Then I will make a decision. Thanks for the help. | ||

Hey Hot Dog REF: Do you like the overall riding position with the sport seat? Is it more comfortable for longer rides? The "up on top" feeling at first was weird, but I grew to prefer it. Is is a HARDER seat- which as others say- allows you to slide around a little easier, I would say it is no better on a long ride. Having said that my rides are rarely longer than 200mi in a day, and my posterior is good to go after that ride even on my Gixxer- so I guess I've got a lead bottom.  | ||

Yesterday I got a lighting Long Touring seat in, Harley took a vacation and I bought it dec. 23rd. I can say I defiantly like it. as far as comfort I can't tell the difference but it does put my feet flatter on the ground (lowers the rider by an inch) and it stops the passengers from sliding into your back, gives them more comfort. What I also really like is the way the bike looks, give it more definition instead of having a long seat reminiscent of a bicycle with a banana seat. makes it look more badass when its just sitting there, I give my thumbs up for the touring seat | ||

Drfudd... could you post a good picture of your bike with the touring seat? I would really appreciate it. I think the touring seat kinda has the look of the 70's Suzuki GT 2-stroker seats with the ducktail-style kick up in the back, but I have yet to see a full on picture of a bike with that seat on it. | ||

drfudd/ ds_tiger the touring seat doesn't look bad. I like the look of the stock seat how it ends into the back of the frame. But I am more concerned with comfort. I probably won't be riding more than 200-300 miles in a day anyway. Thanks for the opinion and the pic |
