the body work of the RR is ugly as hell.........I wonder how well this bike will flic through fast corners........gather it moves more like a supertanker than a nimble race bike.....why do the Italiens or Honda build their bikes so slim??????????..............one thing is for sure the RR will stay on course with that arse.............

You guys merely need to look at the history of Buell racebikes to see they are built for function and not aesthetics, unlike the other brands you are refering too. Like the first RR bikes, this one was designed with extensive wind tunnel work to allow it attain higher speeds while using less HP.
There are no bikes out there today that have any sort of clean aerodynamics, they are all like pushing barns through the air. The closest being the Hayabusa and even then they are a distant second to aerodynamics of the RR 1000.It is not the " slimness" of a bike that will enable it to flick through the corners, it is about the suspension, weight distribution, wheelbase, etc.

I ride this crazy horse, and this bike turns on a dime. the first time i raced it, it felt is if the bike was floating. then i got back on my other race bike (XB12r) and the 12 felt is if something was wrong with it. their was nothing wrong with it . the RR is just that much better

According to the wiki entry for Erik Buell, "The wrap-around fairing design (another innovation by Buell) had lower aerodynamic drag than all but a small handful of even current 21st century sportbikes."

They DID do extensive wind tunnel testing. There are really cool pictures.

Which I evidently don't have here. Maybe at work tomorrow.

Tiger, beauty is ALWAYS in the eye of the beholder.

There is a certain beauty I find in elegance of design.
Buell does a great job on that criteria.

Getting the most out of what you have is ALWAYS beautiful.

So is doing your homework in the wind tunnel;)

BTW the paint on the RR is too cool, I love the Buell letters on the tip of the front fender!
