just bought my first buell...i,m in love. '06 xb9sx. been riding for 25 years since the age of 5 and love all bikes, at least until i put the first mile on this machine and it was like someone took every motorcycle and dirt bike i'd ever riden and put them into one. Am i dreaming or can it really be this good. i'd welcome any comments or advice about the xb9.

Congrats!

Advice:
Read the manual carefully.
Adjust the suspension to fit your weight and riding style.
Keep tires at/near 36f/40r.
Take your time testing its cornering ability (and yours too!).

thanks for the advice. strangely enough this was the first owners manual i've ever read cover to cover, and now i've done it about 5 times. i've got about 100 mile on it now, and i'm getting used to the cornering on the bike, its amazing what great design can do for handling.

That's exactly what I said! When I first rode my '06 SX it was like I was riding a motorcycle for the very first time! Truly a groundbreaking motorcycle.

Congratz and welcome. I myself am pretty new around here and to Buell. I was a fan for years before I owned one. I bought an 05 XB9SX. Love it!

Welcome to the obsession. You'll come to love your bike more and more and think about it constantly when you're not on it. Word of advice even though I know you've been riding a long time; don't be a fool - get full gear and wear it all the time. Better safe than sorry (there's cagers out there in case you didn't notice because your permagrin is affecting your eyesight).

Welcome to the brotherhood!!!
Enjoy your new machine and new lease on life!!!
I also understand what you are saying about the dirt bike feeling. My '06 XB12Ss is my first street bike after riding KTM dirt bikes since I discovered 2 wheels. My first ride on the Buell and I was sold.

Welcome!!!
