Well, it's certainly NOT a 2002 Firebolt. Also, I've never, ever heard of someone getting 14,000 miles out of a set of Dunlops. My original rear tire lasted 5500 miles, and that's one of the longest lasting ones I ever heard of. The price is nice, but this person either has absolutely NO idea what they are talking about, or they are lying.

Stinks. Smells like major scamming.

I'll email - ask if a "friend" can stop in to inspect.

For that kinda money, I'd fly up myself and ride it out... I'll post the reply.

Probably offer to pay me double the value in Nigerian bonds if I'd just send him a $500 deposit in certified funds... this'll be interesting...

This just in ...

Sorry, but the craigslist user address you recently mailed (sale-256690873@craigslist.org) does not seem to be valid. It could be you're trying to respond to a very old posting, or that the user has not requested anonymous email forwarding. Please check the address and try again.

Oh well...

Yeah, I just noticed that the add has been "flagged".
Sorry for the bum steer.

It was interesting though.

Hey, it WAS at least worth a look!

If nothing else, some of these are good for entertainment.

I sent him an email and got a response. Interesting one though. I will be passing but here is his response if anyone cares. Odd that it's a 9 with 12 cases. As mentioned he is as most and a scammer or he doesnt know anything about the bike which seems odd to me.

Hi John,
It's a 948cc engine size, the bike is in great condition, never dropped. It has clear title and the price I will sell it for is $2,900.00, which includes all the shipping taxes and the insurance.
I live in Eugene but currently I am with work in United Kingdom ( London ) for the next approximately 5 months. Anyway, it shouldn't be any problem, because I am using BuySafe services so I can sell the bike without difficulty.
I left the bike in their custody in US before leaving overseas. They will take care of the shipping. There's a 14 days return policy included so you could test, inspect and ride it before final decision.
So if you want to purchase it, let me know and I will explain you how BuySafe works and how we can move forward.
I am waiting your email.
Best Regards

Get the guys number, set up a time, I'll go look at it, I'm not I'm far away. I bet you never hear from him again. If he agree, I am really willing to go check it out. Anytime over the next few days is good.

I agree - it's ALWAYS good to ask if somebody can check it out BEFORE buying. IF the guy's legit, he'll say "come on by" If not, you'll never hear from him again.

The only bikes I got on ebay were 1 - from Hal's Racing (the ex-Bilansky S1 Thunderbike) and a VF500 Honda vintage racer from a guy within an hour of here.

I answered a similar ad. He said the bike is already crated and you can't look at it. BUT- you are protected by the BuySafe plan if you buy it. Then he got really pushy and kept emailing me, but got me mixed up with other people and said things that didn't make sense. Really fishy.

One of the nastier old variations of this scam was to get some malware on your computer as part of the scam process, and then when you *think* you are going to the trusted proxy site, you are really talking to an elaborate fake copy of it. Very clever, very evil.
