I'm going to be building a 8" over swingarm for my bike.I thought of building some kits with chain and sprockets and longer brake line,it would be a bolt on thing no mods done to the bike, so you could go back stock .Hopefully I will have all done and put on soon. | ||

I guess with the amount of twisty roads available, it's not too awful. Although, the fact that I would have to give up the belt drive would nix it for me. | ||

The amount of Lowered bikes and extended swings arms Imo is a southern thing... Some of these guys are show but some are the guys that do 200MPH+ on the interstate.. longer lower bike is a faster and safer at high speeds until you die... | ||

I couldn't have fun on a bike I couldn't rail in the corners or wheelie. Most of those urban-gangsta-pseudo dragracer wannabe's can't ride very well anyway, so they make up for it with noise and a visual assault. I know a local shop owner/tuner who's making a mint off these guys. He's a veteran drag racer, but he sells most of his stuff to kids who have bought their first motorcycle. They never develop any skills before they start spending money modifying the bike. He loves it! | ||

I love the way my bike handles but I'm going for a different look and there are alot of guys that like to drag race and you can not drag on a 52" wheel base bike very well.I will be able to change back to stock any time that i wish also. | ||

Why would you want to drag race a buell? They were designed to be canyon carvers, and they are damn good at what they were designed for. On the other hand it would seem to me that one could spend a mint on trying to make a buell cover the 1/4 mile quickly and still get beat by a bone stock four year old gsxr 1000 with an 18 year old retard who cant even ride passing you on one wheel while flippin you the bird with his half naked g/f drunk and hanging off the back. Just seems like a lost cause to me, if you want to go straight fast why not buy something other than a buell no? | ||

I find that the only people that diss someone for doing something different are the "Typical Wannabe Biker Types" or they are just plain jealous tools. If no one ever did anything different to there bike we would not have the bike we have now and we would all have the same toys. Do we not ride them cuz they are different? If the roads were all straight where I lived I would do the same and some.... I like the extended swing arm for what it is worth. It does what it is supposed to do. Let us have FUN at the track... Buells were made for the track, just depends which one you want to go to. Have at it and have fun doing' it! | ||

Ill answer your question why drag race a buell but, first I need to ask a question. Have you ever drag raced a buell? ITS FUN!!!!!!! Yeah its not as fast as a "gixter" but thats not the point in drag racing. "CONSISTANCY" is the key. I race my stock 9 runnin 11.60s and run a 750 running 10.15 and the differnce is unreal on how much you feel the power on a buell. I was going to get into the Road Racing scene but lack of money keeps me from doing so. Drag Racing on the other hand is really cheap and dont take a whole lot of equipment to use. | ||

Im not tryn to diss any1, but if I came off as jealous I guess I can see where you came to that conclusion. But Im not jealous, I just dont see what the point is. Handling is the very best part of what buells are designed to do and they are arguably the best there is in that catagory. If you take that away by adding an extended swingarm then the buell is no longer really good at anything and all the effort that went into mass centralization and all the other buell inovations are wasted, imo. Its like taken a pitt bull and pulling all its teeth and then duct taping stilts on its legs and tryn to make it run like a grey hound. But all you get is a pitt bull that is still pretty slow but now a greyhound can kick its butt in a fight and its faster too. I'd hate to know I have a buell that handles corners worse than a v-rod. And no Ive never drag raced a streached buell, dont really want to, and I'd never do that to mine, not what I bought it for + I love wheelies. But hey, to each his own, Im not tryn to piss any one off, just havn fun and tryn to make my point, but if I am pissn anyone off just say so and Ill shut up. Oh and sorry for the horrible spelling. | ||

AJ in all honesty there is a few guys on this board that do pretty well at the track without alot of motor mods. I've seen 10's an stretched. Even though some 1000's are faster is the rider up for it?? You may not be giving some Buells and there riders the benefit of the doubt. | ||

Point taken bads, Im not tryn to put the Buell drag racers down, Im sure that they are getting the best times possible out of thier buells and I guess I can see where that can be fun. I still dont understand why some1 would want to dedicate thier buell to that, maybee if i could afford to have two of them... but all I can really do at this point is repeat what I have already said and come up with more analogys proving the same point so before I push someone into posting the dreaded  Ill give you all your thread back. You boys are awful hard on a guy trying to make his bike better for HIS needs. Short wheelbase bikes are hard to launch and in my case they are not as stable at speed---esp the speeds I am seeking. I run an extended swingarm on my racebike --- heck I am even in the process of necking the frame about 5 degrees out. Again to make it more stable at speed. Heck, he was even offering to make some available to others here. | ||

I think it is an awesome idea. I am just starting to work on a 300 tire swingarm, for my xb. And making it a show bike. I think the market is there for something like this. customizing streetbikes is the new big thing. All this people bashing you are just hating you because buell didn't run with this idea. | ||
