You can make just about any switch work, I think the question should be, "will it fit in the stock position?"

To that question, I do not know the answer. You could always relocate the switch.

That switch is a three Wire and the XB uses a 4 wire, I would stick with a four wire personally. Too much load will melt things and cause shorts.

Also it does not have a lock on it soo if you want you bike to have a lock I would not use it. Why do you want to change??

it wont need a lock, because its not going to be in the stock location.

i changed some things on the front of my bike and the steering lock was in the way.

ill post some pics when i get it all done.

new12r said that the buell has a 4 wire ignition and the other has a 3 wire. ive checked a bunch of places and no one seems to sell a 4 wire ignition. whats the mystery 4th wire for? what if i use a 3 wire. i hate electrical stuff.

As you will see below, according to the schematic from the factory manual, two of the wires are joined and go to the same fuse. Your three wire switch will work just fine, and overloading is not an issue because the switch operates a relay to engage the starter.

I think the question is...... will it take the load? I don't see it's rateimgs.

Again I repeat, overloading is not an issue. The RELAYS take the load. The switch itself only carries voltage, very little amperage.
