If there is a canabalizing effect from this bike (and it will sell well) it will probably be from HD's own sporty line, Sportbike riders....I don't really think so. I like the look of the bike and would probably choose it over anything else in Harleys line-up, but as a sportbike rider? I get visions of hiking and leaves not back roads when i see that rake and trail....yikes!!

hmm, doesn't do anything for me. looks frumpy or something. still too HD'ish. no interest what so ever.

now the Storz XR1200 on the other hand, that is a great looking kit. but i still wouldn't buy one.

Pretty sure I could grind the pipes flat
I wish I could've got some pictures of me grinding the FXD at the "Back to the track" training last year in Vegas.
I got reprimanded for hanging off!

PS
Don't get me wrong here. I like the bike.
I think they should've made a removable cowl for the passenger seat like a Firebolt has and gone with something different for pipes.

I would buy one> NO ISSUES

Great looking bike

Though all this "grinding" parts has me wondering- what tough hairy chested beasties are we Buellers to begin with??

Or do I need an RC51 ?

Right turn as requested. A respectable lean angle if you ask me.

I already built one with a Stage 3 NRHS 1250, but I am going to sell it soon. Been loving the Buell WAY too much -and now the Sporty just sits on a trickle charger...

Thanks guys. I am probably going to start at $7500 or $8K and see what happens. I have a baby on the way, so that'll help out. Plus I don't ride it all that much now that I have the Buell.

it is actually an '04 883 with S suspension, among many, many other things.

The best part about it is the NRHS Stage 3 1250. : ) My first wheelie was on that bike by accident. You should of seen how impressed the guy on the CBR was!

Notice the cartoonish switchgear is still present on the XR. I have always been annoyed that Harley thinks a Sportster should have such un-sporting grips and oversized levers. Weight never seems to be on the mind of Sportster/Harley engineers. It looks great without a breadbox/air cleaner though -

That Storz kit is pretty cool... looks like they made sure you could get a good lean angle with it, much better than the new H-D.

(more pics of the Storz kit)

Agree the Storz is better looking than the XR1200.

However, I am hoping there will be some parts that are interchangeable or adaptable. If not, I assume that either Harley or The Aftermarket will provide us with some trick parts.

Still the "out the door" price from Harley has got be considerably less than Storz and you will get "Buellish Embellishments" in the deal.

Pondering the storz pipes for my City X, in black of course, it would kill the mass centralization, but give me more ground clearance.... and it is winter, bench racing : D
