I own a Buell and a Rottweiler
Occasionally, I HAVE NO CHOICE but to hit my dog and she is better behaved than 99% of other dogs and children. ESPECIALLY CHILDREN.
Deal with it.
People should freaking hit parents nowadays. They are the problem and act like their kids should be able to do whatever the hell they want wherever they want.

Sgthigg, I may have bought my bike used (just under 2000 miles) but it came with a warranty and the previous rider had two inch chicken strips on the tires. The thing was kept in a 15 car garage and was never out in the weather for a second.
Buying a bike with 2,000 miles on it does not mean the number and types of problems I have had are acceptable.......

How did it get 2000 miles on it sitting in the 15 car garage? Doin laps?
A lot can happen like not breaking it in properly, having belt guards off and putting them back on when you sell it, or really, any number of things. 2000 miles and 2 inch chicken strips tells me this wasn't a confident rider nor probably that experienced. Maybe the previous owner didn't break it in properly.

Hey Elff you don't read so good. I said you don't hit a dog in the nose!!!! Not you don't hit a dog. I have had to swat my dog,there are places that you can without hurting a dog. So please read through the whole post before commenting. |

I read properly
I am My dogs 3rd owner. When we first got her, She was good but would play too hard and occasionally bite [not nip].
On one such instance, I smacked her in the nose when she bit me too hard and that was the last time she bit me. Now she will wrestle and play and even open mouth grab but she never bites.
Sometimes a good smack in the nose is what a dog needs. |

Sorry Elff not one trainer would agree with you. A dogs keenest sense is smell and hiting a dog nose or hind quarters is the worst you could do. If it worked for you thats great.... feel sorry for your dog. Your dog just learned he is going to get hit when he does wrong. |

but I havent had to hit her on the nose since, so in my opinion, I did the right thing.
It was a very dangerous bad habit considering how big my dogs mouth is. I would prefer my dog take one smack in the nose then have her accidentally bite a stranger too hard and then get put down because the positive re-inforcement method hadnt worked yet.
It's been over 2 years now and I have one of the best trained and happy dogs you will ever run into. She has the
Canine Good Citizen certificate.
which was necessary for me to get in order to get insurance on my house.
You can look up what that is on the AKC website.
Some people and trainers also disagree with choke collars and others swear by them.
So you are entitled to your opinion
and I will stick by mine. |

So if your dog has the good cititzen certificate. That mean's it went through obedience training?? Meaning basic and advanced and would be considered as a dog that could go to say....elderly homes or childrens hospitals?? |

Lookout because it's my turn to beat a dead horse, a dog or Mookie. What ever he his? Lots of grousing about our 45° air cooled V-Twin. The engine pulls as hard as anything off the line, it will propel the bike to speeds higher than I have any business seeing and it is one of the reasons I bought the bike. I love the engine and in a unique world class sport-bike it is heaven on earth.
Yes, the 60MPH roll on is not nearly as strong as my CBR 600's but I'm completely good with that. My style of riding never required quick jumps to the century mark.
What I have instead is torque monster power plant that excels at pushing that premium package though just the sort of back roads I love.
Fitting in with almost any riding group is priceless.
Finally, I have an affinity for air-cooled engines that like to shake themselves apart. As a general aviation mechanic, I can tell you all about high maintenance machines. If you don't love it get something else. If you’re like me and willing to pay the price, remember what really makes airplanes fly and your motorcycle carve that canyon is money and patents. |

As for the actual discussion
Ive Ridden I4's my whole motorcycle career. In the past year I have owned 2 Buells. I ended up liking the Firebolt better because I am used to the seating position on a crotch rocket
I have however fallen completely in love with the engine. For the street it kicks complete butt and I wont be going back to an I4. Then, add the handling of the Buell [Especially with my new Diablo's] and the unique cool factor of a buell
and I have motorcycle nirvana |
