Well I tried the Knowledgevault and you just don't get the responses. So take a look at the link and tell me what ya think. Al- it wasn't a wiring problem, I couldn't get that lucky!

I had also had the wires chaffing on the negative terminal, my bike would only break-up on hard acceleration. If the negative terminal is touching the wire harness reposition it, I also added some plastic wire covering.

As far as the unstable feeling with the new tires, I felt the same when I installed my michelin's, I lowered my front tire pressure 2 and reset my suspension. Hope this helps.

I had the same problem. Mine was two fold.
1. Spark Plug wire rubbed through.
2. Bad Temp Sensor.

Engine light would come on and bike would cut out. Would start back up and as long as I kept it below a certain RPM level it would run alright. One time it happened and right after picking it from the dealer with the "we could not find anything wrong response" rode it right back to them. On damp days my bike would run on one cylinder that was the plug wires. The bike shutting down was the temp sensor. This was on my '03 XB9S.

Jason:

Had a similar problem a while back. It ran rough when I punched it at high RPM, idled rough, and engine light came on intermittently. Turned out to be a loose positive cable on the battery.

Everyone posting here is in agreement it's probably an electrical issue. I'd look for the obvious (battery terminals, ground, plugs and wires, nicked wires, etc). Don't worry, you'll find it. Good luck!

Hey guys,

Been really busy withe the holidays, and house projects, so I haven't been on the site lately. Glad to see I got some responses, was startin to wonder if I would. Anyway, I did a pretty thorough check of all the wires, but sounds like I need to give it another look. Oil level is fine. I'm gonna go in the garage and have another look. I'll keep yall posted.

Thanx Jason
