this was the rumor before the TT was released, and while i like the TT it isnt what i wanted to buy, and what i STILL really want. Does anyone else scratch their head and wonder, why all of those great blacked out features are available on a 12? I want to buy my buell new, an i dont want to turn around immeadiately and shell out more cash for handguards and every black piece that can be reasonably switched.... just makes me sad, what i wanted was even less original or new than what was a let down to others for its lack of originality.

any easy resolutions?

(Part of the reason i wanted to buy new is because of the gears starting in 06 and airbox of the 07's can anyone attest to these really being worth it?)

i don't understand the question. the STT seems to be what you're asking for... just remove the 'number plates' and dye/paint the white plastics black. done ;)

its already got all the other black stuff bolted up AND a dark gray frame. even better.

guys on the board here have had great success with the right combo of primer/paint. go semi-gloss or FLAT and i think it'll look great! what else do you not see as available?

i didnt want the added weight and size of the stretched frame... for one. And did this 1200 get rated lower in the hp/tq stats?

So, buy a midnight black 12S, add hand guards, the CityX seat and the headlight grille.

Looks like my purchasing of a bike will come sooner rather than later, my current bike was stolen yesterday morning. So i'm not gonna get to wait for the TT to become available regardless.

As for my second part of my question, Is either the new airbox or the newer transmission worth purchasing new, rather than used prior to these changes?

The airbox is so easily swapped that it is not a factor. We've been cutting our air boxes
since the 03 model. The transmission is better, but whether it is enough better for the
money it will cost you is entirely up to you.

For some the lighter clutch alone is worth it for others they hardly notice the difference.

For me (I do all my shifting via electronic shifter) it is a non-issue.

Well, a TT VS an 05 or earlier model you get:

1.) Increased Fuel capacity
2.) Better/Easier tranny
3.) Lighter clutch effort
4.) 2 year warranty

The TT will also have a better ride than the other models, considering it's 1" more suspension travel, along with 2" longer wheel base.
