Ok, I have sometime so I though I would tighten my fron highbeam light as the whole hosung is loose. I have read through the service manual, posted a previous thread, and parayed that the proble,m fixes itself but here I am trying to fix it. In the photots the only screws that I can see possible making a difference are the ones I labeled. Does anyone have insight in how to tighten the whole housing?

A is supposed to be the pivot. B & C are supposed to be for aiming the headlight IIRC.
I thought the assembly was spring loaded or something. Maybe the nylon pieces are either
worn or broken?

I'll take a look at mine later

You are circling the adjustment screws, to actually tighten the housing for the high beam tighten as I have circled:

Hope this helps,
Sam

Brian brings up a good point too, if the nylon pieces are worn or broken it would most definitely vibrate like crazy as you say.

hmmm after close review, I have taken the bike in for a "warranty" inspection. If your are correct Brian then something is in fact worn out. Thats why I asked because I thought the screws I circled were for adjustment purposes only. I looked at the ones you circled Sam but they dont go all the way to the backplate so I rueld them out right away. Thanks for the responses guys.

Mine rattled when my high beam went out of adjustment far enough that it rattled against the fairing...

I had the same vibrating on my 30,000 mile 9R. It was so bad that the wobbling caused several people to think that the light was flickering on and off. Here's what I did:

Loop a zip-tie around the corner of the headlight housing so that it also goes behind the threads of the adjusting bolt, and tighten it down so that it takes up the slack. Do this to each corner that has an adjustment bolt.

Never been a problem since.

Seeya.

Item #1 in the diagram below needs to be nice and snug or your whole headlight assembly will wobble around. Make sure both sides are fairly tight. (diagram only shows one, but we all know there is one for each side)

I always think the same thing when I look at it.

No disassemble!
