M1combat says

"Oh, one broken belt... but it broke landing a jump and the current one has lasted 23K miles so far. I can't blame that poor belt."

You should get together with Xbrad9r who says

"ride it like a rented mule"

and scare women and children together?

In fact where do you live I would like to ride with ya?

You replaced it because of a hole? That one that broke on me had a hole too... It lasted 5K miles until the fateful jump landing. It had already survived a god 20 jumps before that...

I think holy belts are no problem : ).

I live in Northern AZ Neb...

The only problems I've had with my 03 XB9R were purely self induced, or due to road hazards.

Mine's still pretty new... 2006 Ss, but no problems so far except a broken plastic piece in the throttle housing that was letting the cables bunch up. The problem I thought I had (and took it to the shop twice for) was solved by simply rerouting the crankcase breather hoses. No more hiccups!

I guess since this is a "positive" thread for potential buyers, I should mention that the 1200 engine is scary cool! Being a fairly new rider, I've come nowhere close to tapping the engine's potential. I go pretty easy on it in 1st and 2nd because I'm afraid I'll pop a wheelie!

I have a "dreaded" 99 S3 that I bought last winter with 5K on it. I've put another 5k on it, 1k 2 up, and about 2-3 dozen hard launches/runs at the dragstrip and the only problem was a VR that went bad...

Hey guys,
Had my first "Problem" with the Buell on Wed night...had just finished installing my rear wheel with the new tire i had put on, it was about 9pm so I thought i would take it down my street and back to make sure everything was ok. I ended up making two runs to the end of the road and back. Then while I was standing in the garage with my wife and son talking about the bike, a minivan stops at the end of my driveway...the guy is yelling something out his window so my wife walks toward him and he says "are you finished with the motorcycle" my wife says i guess so and he says "you woke up my three babies" to which my wife says its not a school night and its not even 9:30...anyway the drummer pipe makes for happpy riders and angry neighbors...thanks again kevin

Never had a problem, nope.Uhh,once my '99 X1 tripped the "tip over sensor",rectified in minutes by my local dealer. But that's not really worth mentioning. Both my X1+XB12r have otherwise NEVER been back for any issues.Rock solid really.I like them, despite my Buell bashing.

2004 XB12S with over 14,000 miles
No Problems at all. Change both oils every 1,500 miles with Rottela T in engine and 85w90 gear oil in transmission. Bike is running better than ever! Best motorcycle I have ever owned and I have had many.

03 9R 18,000km no major issues. I've broke lots of things crashing it twice but that's my fault. Other than that I've broke a belt and a couple of other small items. It's a machine, we use them hard, some things wear out or break. Totally happy so far.

Good story. I think your neighbor is just pissed because you own a bike and he has 3 babies and a minivan.
