I tried the search, does not work well. I am trying to find the 0-ring size for the drain plug for an XB. I should be able to get one at the hw store right ?

If anyone can show my how to get a hit for this using search, i would appreciate it. Seem like 'and' and 'whole word' options do not really work ??

thx

I think the inside diameter is 1/2". The trick will be finding one with the proper cross section. I'm going to guess that the cross section is between .030" and .040".

I found O'rings at PepBoys, but they had a thicker cross section, than the stock one; but did work.

H-D sells the correct size O'ring for 25cents, and the whole drain plug assembly (O'ring and thread sealant installed) for $2.50.

The first and last time I went to my dealer for an oil change, they said it would be two weeks, two order the o-ring. I don't visit my dealer anymore unless I want to buy HD baby clothes..

This may sound crazy, but go by your local Scuba Diving shop. They always stock tons of o-rings in an assortment of sizes. Beware though of getting interested in diving. It's an addicting and expensive hobby, just like motorcycles.

Just call them and ask for that part number and see what they say, don't tell them what bike it is for.

Hell, give me thier number, I'll call.

I'll call twice.

This could be fun, maybee I'll ask for some fork fluid for my springer while I'm at it.
