So I have 2 gallons of Leaded Turbo Blue race gas. I wanna mix a gallon in with my regular 93. Is this leaded fuel gonna hurt anything? I was told by some friends that as long as I dont have a cat it will be fine. Anyone ever try it? I also heard it will screw up the o2 sensor. |

Yeah... It'll probably jack the O2 sensor pretty good... |

Yeah I think I'll just run it in my 4wheeler then. |

Why??? Is your bike pinging on premium gas? Why take an unnecessary risk. It may not harm your O2 sensor but if you think race gas will give you more power, you are mistaken. |

Well there's that too ... I'm fairly certain it'll toast the O2 though. I "think" it's not good for valve seats either? Or was it the other way? Unleaded fuel not good for old valve seats? |

Why would you want to put that in? You use the lowest octane your bike can run without pinging, higher octane actually burns slower and gives worse performance, especially if your bike can't compensate for it. --Sean |

The manual says you can run leaded gas. |

I guess I need to post this about once a week. (Message edited by pwnzor on November 10, 2006) |

It will not damage the guides or seats. The lead in gas was originally designed to lubricate these parts. But a FI bike it's bad mmmmkay You will not only destroy your 02 sensor but you could jack up your injectors... PLUS Your bike does not have no where near the modifications to warrant the use of Turbo Blue... |

Jet fuel huh... Do you know that real jets use a grade of fuel so low it is on par with kerosene... |

In the Navy we were deployed in the north Pacific and refueled our (conventional steam propulsion) ship at Adak Alaska. We normally ran DFM (Diesel Fuel-Marine), but that was interchangeable with what we loaded up with from Adak- JP5 Jet fuel which is just glorified Kerosene. Being an 19 year old kid from the mid-west I was surprised at the time. If you ever check out an MTT Y2K turbine engine sport bike, it runs on Diesel or Kerosene. Whichever you can get at the time. The kerosene just burns cleaner than the diesel. On the matter of lead....Someone needs to tell Henry Duga that lead doesn't kill your o2 sensor. He's the one that brought it to my attention at the races when our o2 sensor died prematurely. His first question? "What fuel are you running?" |
