It could be on the square pad, or on the post that the spring hooks to.

R is on the square plate that goes on the ground.

what about the wheel bearing recall.

You should have orange seals, not black.

Wheel bearings were not part of a recall.
They were a service bulletin and will not show up on a VIN search.

Was the wheel bearing problem a broken bearing or just a stiff bearing? My 05 SX rear wheel had a really stiff bearing. Could barely move it with your fingers and the back pushed kind of hard. The local HD replaced it under warranty.

I have orange seals !

Ok, so I have no R and dealer says no recall (unless the R is on the bottom of the pad ?)

I went through my collection of bulletins and do not see one that pertains to the '03 XB9S.

There is a recall for the XB9SL (B-052), and the '03 XB9R (B-048), but I dont see anything for XB9S.

I cant remember if there was a program for that model or not, maybe someone else has a better memory than I do.
I have bulletins B001 thru B059, if anyone has more recent ones than I do if you could get those to me it would be appreciated.

Here's a picture showing the two places the 'R' could be stamped.

Where's the R

What about the XB9SL? Did they have replacement kickstands for those too, since they are shorter?

So the kickstand WITH the R is the good one? or is this the bad one?

I thought the kickstand recall was only for 2002 XB9R's? I believe they caught it on the production line before the 2003 XB9S's came out.

There is no such thing as a model year 2002 XB9R. The XB line started as a 2003 model.

Yes.

What about the XB9SL?

As I stated two posts above yours:

"There is a recall for the XB9SL (B-052)"

You can search for recalls on the NHTSA website.
