Has anyone tried slicing up the foam of a stock Firebolt saddle to make it easier to get your feet down? | ||

Dude, are you serious? wow. I mean, you must be because you're asking but, I don't think the firebolt is that high, plus, the seat is not that cushy. It's not ULY seat. I know racers that have done it to get about 1/2 - 3/4 inch lower. But it's not gonna be a comfortable modification for a street bike. | ||

Actually thats exactly what corbin did with their seat, they restructured the frame a little and i think it drops like 2 inches. | ||

I did it very easy!, actually now I have a seat for long rides (stock),and 1 chopped to hell with almost no padding at all, i felt like i was perched a bit high on the stocker. | ||

I have the corbin seat as well. While the corbin is shorter than stock it does not help it to feel shorter since the seat is dished and the edges are relatively squared off. I'm not explaining it well, but the corbin seat does not feel shorter than stock. | ||

Shaved my foam with an air grinder and covered it in leather. Works great. | ||

I purchased the lowered suspension from Daves last year. I am only 5'7" with legs that belong on a 4 year old. I dropped the bike about 1 1/2", now I am comfortably on my tip toes, which helped a lot, but am still considering a corbin seat. Also at 160 lbs I have no bottom outs going over speed bumps. I would hate to lose what little padding is in the original stock seat. |
