I agree. It's a beauty.

"Sir, I think it represents the duality of man."

I like the bike. I dont love it, the design Im referring to. Look at the close ups. The lines of the bike are cool, but it has a kit car texture to it.

Also, did anybody notice the paint? Blue and white stripes-Shelby, and of course my favorite, American International Race (white w/ lt. blue strips) It seems the French love the American angle. I have always thought the Buell should have an AIR paint option. I tried to make a funny but I dont think it worked!

Has anyone else watched the video with the WIlly Wanka soundtrack? Cracks me up.

Bike sounds nice though. Beautiful piece of machinery.

Begin Rant...

If you have a problem with France or the UN, you've probably been influenced by the "Committee on Domestic Mind Control" - affectionately nicknamed the "Republican Reality-Rapists." If you find yourself inexplicably negative toward the French, check your a$$hole for a blunt object with "Property of the NSA" printed on the shaft.

End rant...

PS) I like the bike. Who needs fuel in the frame when you can get it even lower by putting it there. I bet that bike has a lower CG than an XB. I just wonder about its frame rigidity and where the heck the battery goes...

BRING BACK THE TUBERS

I think it is beautiful. I love the exposed engine. Maybe it does look a little "kit-car-ish", but that only adds to the appeal for me. I guess my questions would revolve around cornering performance.

Front forks: 46mm USD, should be excellent.

Backbone Frame: The engine is being solid mounted to act as an integral part of the frame, or at least that is how I perceive it viewing the pictures on their web site. This may or may not be as stiff laterally as the XB's but it will definitely pass a lot more vibration to the rider.

Rear Swingarm: Pretty damn beefy looking, but does not appear to be as stout as the XB swingarm.

Power: Excellent.

Price: Ridiculous.

If I had enough money, I would have one to go WITH my Buell. I suspect, and this is only a guess on my part, that it would be a considerably less refined ride than the Buell.........But some days, less is more.

I like it a lot, but I don't think I would want it as my only bike.

Reality Rapists?

Some people think the UN is a good thing too.

Probably vibrates like a rigid if the mounting hangs it from the heads.

"..Backbone Frame: The engine is being solid mounted to act as an integral part of the frame..."

I don't think the engine is "integral" as much as just hanging from it if you look at the photos here:

http://www.engmore.com/design.html

I doubt that the engine is "stressed" it is just along for the ride.

The road models are considerably more cluttered up of course. If you look at this:

http://www.engmore.com/roadmodels.html

note the sort of square "appendages" fore and aft of and almost below the engine. Maybe those house the battery and electrics?

Some specs here in a PDF:

http://www.engmore.com/designfiles/specifications. pdf

Kevlar belt drive on the primary? Is that standard for S&S?

Two into one into two mufflers exhaust system. I hate mufflers that are that visible but what else are you going to do with the noise if you can't do a Buell with it?

I can't stand Pate, but I love liverwurst, go figure.
Cool bike.
If I had that kind of money though, I'd probably buy a house.
With a Garage.
So I can have somewhere to store my current bikes.
That isn't currently my living/bedroom/den/mediacenter.

I know we have the battery and ECM to contend with, but I would like a short stubby seat option that is just seat like on the Hellcat. I know we have shortened seat options, but man that would be cool.

I really like the GM LS7 based engine in the Renovatio, pretty awesome. Though for motorcycles I prefer 45 degree over 90. It's pretty stark... very naked. To me, it looks like a Blade Runner bike (Renovatio). Don't really care for the Hellcat's headlight setup... ugly. But it looks like a cool bike otherwise.

I love the wheels on the Wakan. I wonder if the racing pipe shown on the Wakan is any louder than my O.P.S.. Probably has some sort of baffle in that megaphone tip to quell some of the noise. I would want that over the street mufflers.

The little models on his desk are likely explained by the text that appeared in the paragraphs above:

He had already produced scale models, as far back as 1996, of the minimalist and uncompromising sports bike that he was aiming for, and by March 2003 he was free to devote all his time towards achieving that goal.

Heck, I'd buy one of the scale models, I didn't see if he sells them. That's a nice bike, no matter where it's made.

I had a chance to see one of the "Confederate" bikes last summer....it is way cooler in person!the entire bike is blacked out with tons of carbon fiber...the seat looked miserably painful though.

I think that it is the ultimate form of flattery for a French company to create the Wakan. It is also a vindication for Buell motorcycles. In a way, both bikes have lots of similarities. The Wakan being the wild, and crazy one that takes the Buell XB to the extreme. I can imagine the founder of Wakan riding a Buell XB and discovering something Erik Buell did years ago: the marriage of a high torque yet simple V-Twin motor in a high tech frame packaged in a very lightweight and agile motorcycle=FUN! Probably would not be anywhere near as practical nor reliable as an XB. But what a blast!
